Ukraine only about 6% of holdings. Over 95% of portfolio are investment grade. Might hurt a bit but far from a catastrophe. Hasenstab will come through just fine.
I was mostly concerned with longer term since LTPZ has over 90 % in TIPS in years 2040+. Going to be very volatile and I guess if you hold long enough, no losses. Yes in an IRA and retired. But I won't be around around after 2040. Seems like a good …
My biggest disappointment in 2014 has been emerging markets as I own ODMAX & MAPIX both stock funds and TGEIX an em bond fund. Is it time to switch or hold? Three year performance is ok but the world is a mess in the near future and I think US i…
Avoid high turnover funds, funds with taxable bonds. This is about all I do. I have a few stocks that pay qualifed dividends. I am in 15 % tax bracket with most of investement in IRA and Roth. I have a small annuity with no tax issues.
At one time was on top of all the technicles, but no longer. At age 80+ I have an asset allocation and positions I stay with thick and thin. Sure at times I will add fund or replace one but rarely. And I sleep better.
@00BY: Here's what Steven Goldberg of Kiplinger has to say about Stephen McKee.

That was 2 years ago. Old stuff and McKee hasn't done well past year. Waste of money.
Absolutely, but I have some funds In IRA's where transaction fees apply and distributions have no fee.
@ron
Unfortunately, mutual fund distributions are no windfall. In an IRA, fund distributions are neutral because the fund's NAV drops by the amou…
Go to a Honda dealer and buy a certified warranty used car.
I am not a "used car buyer". I'm very afraid. I just buy new but within my budget. However now, I have an almost 16 year old, and was looking for a used reliable car. Honda Civic, Toyota Co…
We have been a Honda family for 15 years and nothing else. Currently a 2014 Honda Accord Sport and 2007 Civic. Love them both and we also use a dealer close to home who we have been very happy with. Wife and I are 78 and 80 retired. We did have a 20…

Hi VintageFreak,
It's AABPX, not AABFX and is no load.
I already have VWINX, PRWCX, BERIX and was interested in another balanced fund. Might have considered VWELX but not available and this had similarities. I use 3 years as the most weight.
Anyone here using managed futures for reasons mentioned by MJG?

I only listen to Hasenstab of Templeton on subject of global bonds because that's where I am invested. Not to say Fuss is wrong, just that I don't follow other managers.
I am the least aggressive investor and a long term holder of many positions. SPLV is one of shorter term holdings just over 2 1/2 years and I look at as having about a 50% increase not your recent 5% decline.
Bee, I don't see it as equity insurance because how much are you going to buy if for example you have a $500,000 or more equity holdings? Insurance is a premium you pay for protection. You might consider trying to cover some of a loss by buying, in …
