DOJ "removes" study finding far-right extremists commit ‘far more’ violence

Following are excerpts from a current report in The Guardian:

Report finding rightwing extremists have killed more Americans than other domestic terrorist groups vanished from DoJ website
The US justice department has removed a study from its website concluding that far-right extremists have killed far more Americans than any other domestic terrorist group, just days after a gunman fatally shot the prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The report, titled What NIJ (National Institute of Justice) Research Tells Us About Domestic Terrorism, vanished from the Department of Justice website between 11 and 12 September, according to an independent investigative reporter who first the story. Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder and Trump ally, was gunned down while speaking at Utah Valley University on 10 September.

The vanished study opened with: “Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives. In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives.”

The study, based on research spanning three decades, represented one of the most comprehensive government assessments of domestic terrorism patterns. It found that “militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism has increased in the United States” and that “the number of far-right attacks continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism”.

The STUDY findings align with independent research from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, which analyzed 893 terrorist plots between 1994 and 2020. That study concluded: “Rightwing attacks and plots account for the majority of all terrorist incidents in the United States since 1994.”

The justice department has not responded to requests for comment about the study’s removal.

Comment: More Orwellian "revised" history...
  • there was no slavery,
  • the far-left is solely responsible for political violence
  • the violence in Washington DC on January 6, 2021 was started by undercover government agents.

"Smart people don't like me" because they know it's not true but the non-smart people eat it up.
  • As they stack up their lies, we become desensitized. At least, that's what the far-right is pushing for.

This country seems divided into 40% far-right.....um....loyalists, 20% on the fence/stuck in the middle and then there are the 40% "smart people" that see through this BS.

And that is quite horrifying, at least to me.

Violence committed by right-wing extremists has become more prevalent in recent decades.
The administration, of course, doesn't want American people to know this inconvenient truth.
Donald J. Trump's rhetoric and actions have further emboldened these groups/individuals.
Unfortunately, Trump will capitalize on Kirk's killing as a pretext to persecute/prosecute
the "radical left" regardless of the actual facts.

I guess you realize that's us.

I'm definitely not a "radical left" individual but the Trump administration might decide to classify me this way.
Should I expect a team of government agents clad in tactical gear
and wearing face masks to visit me sometime in the near future?
Maybe I'll put my attorney on speed-dial and prepare to file a defamation suit against that SOB?
With all the grifting Trump and his family have done, maybe I'll hit the jackpot! ;-)
  • Exactly my point- we are maybe a little bit left of center but the Trump Gestapo characterizes us as "radical left". Of course, their definition of "radical left" is simply anyone who isn't one of them.
  • Out of words today. Repugnants have killed the U. S.
