Trump Says ‘Smart People Don’t Like Me’ READ BETWEEN THE LINES

President Donald Trump took a swipe at his critics but seemingly revealed his thoughts on his supporters in the process. “Smart people don’t like me, you know? And they don’t like what we talk about,” Trump told attendees of a gala at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club on Saturday. A clip of Trump’s speech, taken by Republican strategist Nicole Kiprilov, showed the crowd chuckling at the remark.

Across the aisle, however, the comment raised some eyebrows. Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a rising Democratic firebrand, wrote in an X post: “I agree! Soooo does MAGA know what this means he thinks of them ?"

  • Devotees just love to be told over and over again that they are among the not-so-smart ones. And, what am I to conclude? Do they even hear what they are hearing?

    Reading between the lines:

-Authoritarian leaders often have an adversarial relationship with educated populations because independent thought, critical inquiry, and respect for diversity are inherently at odds with authoritarian control. Educated citizens are harder to manipulate, and academic institutions provide a source of truth that can challenge the authoritarian regime's official narrative.

-The "not so smart people" bask in the warmth of a leader that values them, even if it is for his own selfish interests.

-Smart people do not like it when poorly conceived ideas are used to form public policy. Thus, they do not want to hear it from leadership.

-Unintelligent people have great difficulty reading between the lines. It requires higher level thinking processes.

Wow, so telling. Bottom line he's calling his supporters not that smart. The first time he's ever told the truth IMHO. The truth always comes out.
