Very timely post. Thanks very much, vkt. btw / one reason i like BoA is all the free trades I get at Merrill L for keeping a high balance.
Another: I recently had my wallet stolen while out of state. I had NO ID, no way to get an ID, no nothin…
speaking of weeding through "links", is there a way to set up a category that shows all posts *not* started by ted except for posts started by ted that have one or more responses?
i swore by my keurig with jet fuel pods but then i bought a jar of bustelo aka pilon espresso ***instant*** at target. you would not believe how good it is. far better than any keurig coffee i've ever had, better than any regular brewed, better th…
there *likely* will not be any good candidate, only the lesser of all the evils. hate to say it but at this point i'd probably go with jeb if he somehow *fluffered* up the rankings at the last minute. HC vs JB, JB would maybe get my vote, but as I…
i con't say whether it's right or wrong of her to do it, only that she will do it. and that it'll be a very popular stance. the thought of her in the WH makes me want to vomit but i fear it's inevitable given the likely competition.
she will win the primary and she will make an issue out of drug prices. i mean, why would she argue with success? unless, of course, some very very large donors from the med world step up to the plate w $.
be sure to tell us when the time is right to leap on GROW!
Sorry, but if we can predict when it bottoms, it's going to matter less WHERE you invest. I'm really hoping Gold, Emerging Markets and Oil all bottom at the same time and US Global Inves…
O.S.: so ... what would make you reconsider your new posture? My fear is that we rally toward new highs and I get suckered in toward the last minute, worrying that i'm missing out. Would it take fresh and convincing new highs to change your mind o…
O_S: That at least sounds like a rational plan. Personally, I don't think the Moose or Roland have that great a market-timing (or rotation-strategy) track record but moving out of cash should mean something, right?
the way this market is rocketi…
i sold quite a bit of stuff on thursday but the strength and reversal-nature of friday's rally has been thinking i messed up once again. how 'about you?
if the size of the transaction is big enough, i don't care about fidos fees. don't like em of course but don't care. and then for future purchases, just do the DCA thing, even if for only one time, and the cost is $5.
also: why would you do this now? is there anything currently going on w/ PRWCX that is making you a little nervous? i mean, it's not like, if things start to turn sour, you can't make a move then, instead of anticipating what may or may not happen.
otoh -- PRWCX has a lot in health care and could take quite the hit during the coming/arriving/already-here correction/sell-off/bear-mark/melt-down/fiasco. myself, i plan to DCA come hell or high water.
I bought a bunch of GILD at around $100 a while ago. My current lowest limit order is at $73.28, which is where the weekly 200-period MA stands. Hey, never say never!
looks like ECL will break through its $118.46 all-time high one of these days and once it does, maybe it'll be off to the moon. i don't own any but i could see how that might happen. good luck to you!
How about this for a scenario? Everyone is talking about how a handful of stocks are holding up the averages and this being the case, the bear is about to pounce. If it did, though, it'd be the most highly advertised bear in (my own admittedly fog…
i myself just cut the cable cable, eventho at the end cox offered to let me keep what i had for just $5 more / month than internet alone, but i hate my cable co so much for past dastardly deeds that i said to hell with them. in this regard, i thi…
i've been holding onto FPACX exactly for this tax-driven reason. also: because i can't find a suitable replacement, though i've looked high and low mighily. ted's comment makes me think i should go and scour the OEF universe once again.
let's see. i stopped smoking not for health reasons but just because ciggies got too damn expensive. gave up drinking for other reasons -- sigh -- but doing that gave me an excuse to no longer go to bars, so i'm saving a ton of money that way. …
okay, assuming stocks come under pressure today due to Greece, what under-pressure stocks would you be looking at? I assume not the health ones too much, since by and large they're resistant to world events, at least in terms of a real playable sel…
catch said: If this is what is being discussed regarding "cash" within an investment portfolio, then I still have no need for such an item. The exception would be another market melt.
agreed. but then again, it's impossible to know if the market'…
all those gains were early on. for the last little while -- ie, ever since i bought it -- it's been treading water. i tend to agree w/ BobC's last line and am keeping an itchy finger on the selling trigger.
Will probably buy more ADXS Monday; important biopharm conference presentation this weekend.
good call on this. wish i'd bought a bunch on the open! or earlier!
No doubt you might have a point. Or you might not. Just the same as biotech might be in a bubble. Or might not be.
In any event, your deleted comment posited the notion that your posts are meant to stimulate thinking, which I'm sure you think …
