Tried placing an order this morning at Schwab where the fund is or will be available. Received a message. “The order cannot be placed”. Then further down “we cannot process your order for this fund. Please contact a Schwab Rep…….”

Thanks @OJ. Appreciate it,
@finder my thinking too that Friday the cat bonds didn’t see the full impact of Helene. But who knows, these bonds seem impervious to about any disaster.
@Junkster
Hope you are ok. Saw the floods in Asheville NC, near your nest.
You were correct, Helene developed into a large hurricane.
Just hope it didn't cause damage to your homes and Xterra fleet.
Right on Helene but at least so far wrong on the c…
Regarding CBYYX where a few are invested including me. I re entered this fund in July after Hurricane Beryl had no impact whatsoever. Hurricane Beryl was a cat 5 and broke all sorts of meteorological records. Yet none of the cat bonds got hit. S…
How will CLOs, which typically involve floating-rate loans, react while the Fed is easing rates?
If you want to read a nice essay on that very topic see the attached link

@Junkster
Still holding my Junk. The new Core-Plus fund is just 1.5% of portfolio. WCPNX. Enjoying the ride, though my junk funds are by no means leading the pack.
@Crash, I give you credit for your persistence and glad it is working out for you.
Still not sure the need to lower rates aggressively from here. S@P hit an all time high this morning. Junk bonds at all time highs. Several firms revising third quarter GDP higher. An interesting tidbit from market technician Ryan Detrick. Sin…
Anxious to see how the bond markets respond to Fed day Wednesday as well as the following day, I usually have an opinion (which thankfully I never base my trades on) but haven’t the slightest idea of how the markets will react Wednesday and Thursda…
In short duration like SEMIX , DHEAX and HOSIX. I have used them as cash substitutes this year. Albeit with DHEAX they will be quick to ban you if you move in and out too frequently with size.
@Old-Joe she'd be a solid choice. Adam Kissinger or Mitt Romney might also play well.
I've no idea what slot she might be thinking of but if it helps get the country moving out of the current 2-party malaise I'm all for it.
+1. All mentioned are not…
Hi @hank. I hadn't heard of WEA before so I took a look. That looks like one wild ride when added to the trend chart along-side my usual suspects.
On JMBS, I took some advice from something Junkster noted in another thread. Floating rate and mortg…
But the HOSIX performance chart is sooooo beautiful. Straight across from bottom left to upper right. Please don't make me consider selling this yet.
Just....just look at that chart again. Positive returns in all 26 months. It's like som…
My post delete and your response crossed. Sorry. Your input though is appreciated, They made a bad bet with the preferred of Riley Financial and were called out on it months ago by noted short seller Marc Cohodes, This week the chickens came ho…
Reading, learning and re-learning stuff on this thread. Thanks, all. And @Junkster knows junk. Time to exchange my junk for something else.
@Crash, Not sure you should sell just keep an eye on it. If stocks rebound strongly the next couple weeks…
Thanks @Junkster, your response is much appreciated. So, in your opinion, where are the best of the bond categories as fed rates drop?
Pretty much everywhere especially the higher quality categories. Problem is most bond categories have already m…
@catch22, thank you for the data.
I have 3 bond funds in my portfolio that I have been putting maturing CD and treasury money into since late 2023. CSOAX has returned 5.2% YTD. RSIIX 4.8% and CBLDX 4.4%. I believe duration in that order. All on pa…
#As an update, John got your voicemail yesterday, is writing a letter, and will reach out.
Just got off the phone with John Connor. Very informative conversation from investing and the new Nordic fund to hiking. A really sharp guy and a real attri…
In response to the discussion board:
CrossingBridge has commented in investor letters of exposure to the Nordic bond market and reasoning for holding these investments among its strategies.
Over the next several months, CrossingBridge will prepare …
Re, the markets. Friday and today there were several weaker than expected economic reports. Yet, 10 year bond yields rose quite a bit both days. Not what you would expect. Here’s a quote below from Citi’s bond guy on maybe why. Not to mention t…
Seems a few here are reducing floating rates. Probably not a bad move. All the bond traders appear to be loaded to the gills in floating rate/CLOs, including me. So have been reducing there a bit if only because the boat seems so crowded. Bought…
As well as a big drop in oil prices too. Many recent economic indicators have shown weakness. Couple that with this week’s Barron’s cover story of no rate cuts by the Fed this year and you have the perfect contrarian storm. The tell should be Fri…
The future KKR bond fund sounds a bit like the fund I mentioned on May 1 on FD’s site that is heavy in ABS and the rest in non agency MBS and commercial MBS. Rarely has had a down day for some time now and everyone seems to be piling into as eviden…

@junkster, Thanks.
>>>>>>Could you please elaborate what you meant by, "I received my checks for my taxable account as promised a few days before the transfer.”
Two of my remaining active accounts (and a few dormant ones) migrated over the weekend and so far smooth as silk. Began placing trades first thing Monday morning. I received my checks for my taxable account as promised a few days before the transf…
@junkster,
Two years ago, I would not have expected floating rate stuff to do well for this long. JBBB and JAAA are green today.
Most of my monies is in CLOs (floating rate) and my complacency there worries me. Even Barron’s is extolling the vi…

In looking at the best performing bond funds YTD (over 3%). one commonality is a large exposure to commercial MBS. I have also been pleasantly surprised at how many bond funds ( including yours) are handily beating cash in the face of the rising …
I know it feels like a moment for everything is awesome for bonds. Can’t help but remind buffets article from June. High fiscal deficits have consequences. There is zero political will in Washington to exercise fiscal virtue.

Hi @Junkster I'm familiar with IRMAA, in general. I'm curious to your earlier post when you noted 'No inflation on my social security benefits as I was notified would be receiving $293 less per month in 2024.' I will presume you received a letter fr…
Another matter some may not be aware of. In addition to your Medicare Part D plan through a private carrier, if your income is above a certain threshold there is a Medicare Part D IRMAA. This varies from $12.90 to $81.00 per month and deducted f…
Medicare wasn't up big. So, IRMAA? It's painful the 1st year it hits, then one gets used to it. For couples, it's 2x ITMAA.
Yes, IRMAA. Still a bummer. It will only get worse as I get older because of my increasing RMDs.
