  • Halftime, good game so far. I am surprised that they are using sideline heaters. This is the NFC North dudes, home of the Ice Bowl.
  • @Mark Seems Packers heaters ran out of gas & so did the Packers!
  • I guess. They owned most of that game but both teams had their moments. I hope Love's injury isn't major.
  • As I have posted in this thread both my wife and I enjoy the Packers. But, not over the hometown Bears. Last night's game was incredible. I went to perform a small chore, right after the Bears made that field goal at the end of the 4th. Came back, and the Bears had the ball. WTF? Missed the successful onside kick!

Then, they made the exact right choice by not trying for 2-pts after the TD. OT! What a hoot. I actually don't think you can blame the loss of J Love at all. Willis played spectacularly. Though, obviously Love was not their only IR player. Still, the Bears earned that win. I was very optimistic this year. And that is no small feat for a modern Bears fan.

Who knows what a few more team additions might bring. Their defense is killing it. Williams is getting better every day. Their running game is spectacular. The coaching appears to be on the money.

I guess we'll never know after TWO penalty hits on Love! Maybe that was pay back after Packer player dumped McMahon on his head many years back.
  • What a great game the Bears & 49er's had. Excitement from start to finish. You almost hated to see either team lose.
  • @Mark
That was exactly my perspective too.
    @Derf

No, and please don't think that I was being snarky. I did not like those hits, one bit.
I was just majorly impressed by Willis coming in cold, and being amazing.
I am of the thought that the Packers are slightly better than the Bears at this point in time. And that the Bears only need minor tweaks to potentially close that gap.

Also, re: my previous comment, look at what happened because the Bears last night attempted the 2-pt maneuver rather than simply tying. They did not learn from that previous win.
  • @DrVenture I've been on the road for two days & witnessed zero football. I see Packers backed door the playoffs. Injuries are a part of the game & are playing a major part in the last (6)? Packer games. Before leaving I shot one question at football observer, why are the multi million $$$$ QB's not wearing concussion protect on their helmets? His reply, I haven't seen one QB wearing one!
    Have a good evening, Derf
  • I had the same thought/question. @Derf
  • Last NFL game of the year played Sunday night & it was a fit ending to the regular season!
Aging X Packer quarterback leads the "Stealers" to the playoffs.

I've wondered about that too; maybe that protective layer interferes with the helmet audio. A. Rodgers in the 4Q last night had so much trouble with his unprotected helmet audio that he had to waste timeouts on it. Maybe the signal is too touchy for the extra mass.
  • Could be the tinfoil he lines all his headgear with, to quiet the mind-control canines?
  • Packers -Bears Sat. night Prime & 2 local channels.Hopefully very good game to be missed by a lot of Football Fans.
  • I was just looking up days, times, and tv cover of the wild card round on ESPN, and noticed on the page for the Stupor Bowl that I could pick up a ticket now for "as low as" $6,184.

That, or maybe the brain worm interferes when it's munching on auditory cells.

Yes, should be fun to watch. Better if GB wasn't suffering so many injuries.

  • Hats off to the Bears comeback win over Packers. The Packers no longer own the Bears!
2 games down & one to go.
  • I was both surprised and unsurprised. The first half was brutal for the Bears. Then they did what they have been doing all season.

Holy cow is Rodgers getting some flak on MNF tonight! And, as I type the Texans intercept on Rodgers, and return for 52-yds! That dude has been sold for glue. Comments like, "No legs anymore" and "Likely, we are watching his last game" for most of the second half.

Never thought I would find myself rooting for the Houston Texans. LOL
  • @DrVenture And now you know why Packers moved on from Mr. Rodgers.
Yesterday while watching the news it was pointed out why the Bears are on the move, It appears the Pope is a big Bears fan! It never hurts to have a little help from above.
Last nights game was of interest for the first half & then turned into a laugh-er.

Oh, the Packers timing was perfect. No doubt. I could not believe what the Jets, and now the Steelers, paid for what they were getting. I suppose Rodgers gets the last laugh.

All respect due for his career. But, there comes a time...
  • @DrVenture If memory serves me right, I believe they were at least a couple of years late. He had some injury problems & then they gave him another contract, much to my surprise. Just my 2 cents from this armchair quarterback.
  • @derf

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall the same. Fear of putting all the eggs in the Jordan Love basket.
