Still 52 stocks 47 bonds. Chuck tells me that 4% of my stocks are international. Take that with a pound of salt. 7.81% of the full portfolio is company X outa Panama. Another, outa P.R. is 3.86% of total (not total stocks.) The single stocks have been true contrarians this week. Stinky poopy. But I'm standing pat.
// Today the National Employment Report of the payroll processing company ADP said that the U.S. lost 32,000 jobs in the private sector in September. The ADP National Employment Report measures the labor market based on weekly payroll data of more than 26 million private-sector employees. ADP also revised August’s employment growth, which had been recorded as 54,000 jobs, down to a loss of 3000.
FD1k, you know, we know you do, that all of the Russia stuff was and is true, demonstrated over and over and over. You will gasp at how the Comey thing goes.
"The Bureau of Labor Statistics' consumer price index report for August showed a surge in beef prices over the past year. Ground beef prices were up 12.8% on a year-over-year basis in August, while beef roasts were up 13.6%, and steak prices were 16.6% higher. Those inflation figures are well above the 3.2% year-over-year rise in all food categories, as well as the 5.4% rise in meat prices from last year".
Meanwhile Trump tries to push down oil prices beyond what is profitable. The average driver may save a small amount overall. If you own oil related stocks you get smashed. And then you sell. Next oil companies dump employees and contracts. The fallout can be immense.
All so that guy who drives 5000 miles annually and gets 35 MPG can save $100 a year. Just more stupidity.
"The year-to-date level of planning furloughs is the highest since 2020, the year of the Covid pandemic. Challenger said announced cuts have totaled 946,426 through the first three quarters. The figure already is 24% higher than all of 2024.
At the same time, the firm said hiring plans have receded sharply.
New hirings totaled just 204,939 so far in 2025, off 58% from the same period a year ago and the lowest level since 2009, when the U.S. economy was still in the throes of the financial crisis."
How many more “good weeks” will it take till we don’t have a country”. We better fight like hell or we won’t have a country. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.
Yet, those who support the authoritarian power grab will grasp at the straws. A form of compartmentalization. They will shout, look at the stock market! Even when they have little to no exposure. They will aver, "immigrants are taking our jobs". When, in reality, Americans do not want to work in fields or factories or roofing. Anyone worried about out-competing people who barely speak the language, and have a sixth grade education, needs to examine their life's choices.
These supporters will attempt to give credit to politicians, for what is really the free market capitalist engine which forms our economy. Despite the current efforts to tax and control an economy which is beyond their comprehension. The same people who decried taxation previously, now embrace taxes as salvation.
Every time someone posts about price increases, it doesn’t tell the whole story because:
You also have to mention when prices stay the same or even drop — like oil. Remember when eggs dropped nearly 50% after months of political debate?
What really matters is the overall CPI.
Meanwhile, Chicago’s leaders continue to deny and downplay the city’s serious crime issues.
The S&P 500 is at another all-time high… again. Yet the usual Dems keeps complaining all the time.
AOC seems to be the new face of the Democratic Party, with Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries (whom most people barely recognize) following her lead. See the video (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FBDncZcaXcQ) All three have embraced the progressive, socialist agenda—and, fittingly, they’re all from New York… an echo chamber of their own making.
Schumer shut down the government because he refuses to allow any cuts to healthcare funding — including coverage for illegal immigrants. Obama once promised that healthcare would be cheaper and that we could keep our doctors. When it became clear those promises weren’t true, Democrats responded by increasing the budget to sustain the system.
Elections have consequences. It's time to fire more Gov employees; it's a great time to find who is not necessary.
When looking back over this period, FoxNews will stand out as a major culprit in spreading so many MAGA lies to the nation. Lies that, when repeated daily to an audience with limited capacity, become alternative facts.
It takes a village. We have 1 such villager on these boards.
What is humorous, is that he is the one being trolled, but cannot grasp it. The very definition of internet trolling is to compel others to make fools of themselves. And not realize it is happening.
On forums where he is among his "own kind" predominantly, they barely tolerate his repetitive platitudes. lol
Mostly, they just ignore him. Personally, I don't even read his posts, I just work off of what others are posting. And the base knowledge that he just repeats like the See And Say.
Rooster says, "The sun is rising, time to do my thing again".
Time for the 25th Amendment to be employed. Will it happen? No. Repugnants are spineless spectators. It was 25th Amendment time during the first term, already. Impeached twice, but invertebrate Repugnants just lay down and stayed quiet in the face of all the craziness.
As you and others know all too well, for years FD1000 cried endlessly on multiple forums about how much he was paying for Obamacare, blaming President Obama for allowing such costs. Now that he’s on Medicare and Trump is in office, suddenly it’s no problem that Trump is trying to push millions of people off the ACA by cutting the very subsidies FD1000 benefited from for years. On top of that, Trump wants to meddle with Traditional Medicare, making access more restrictive. And this hypocrite has the nerve to say, "Obama once promised that healthcare would be cheaper and that we could keep our doctors."
That was another weird trifle, the thing about doctors. An off-the cuff statement that was basically 90% accurate. It defines how desperate that group was to find fault, so they could go back to a situation where insurance companies could exclude pre-existing conditions.
Now a fun fact. I only have known a few people who were actually receiving ACA subsidies and privileges. All are Trump supporters!
A fellow that I work with had a good job, but his kids were basically unsuccessful, and both required Obamacare. A woman that I know who is on Medicaid and lives in senior subsidized housing. She has made a lot of poor choices and they all add up to needing taxpayer assistance. And another fellow that I have known for a very long time, who recently told me that he has Medicare Advantage, but pays no premium. The doofus, didn't even realize he was telling me he is receiving his coverage courtesy of the taxpayers. And he rants about social programs! This is a very clueless group of people.
I should add that I do not mind helping people with my tax dollars, but when those people attack the very programs that help them survive, that is very irksome.

I’ll add one more doofus to your list. FD1000 never misses a chance to tell everyone, on every forum, that he’s got the "best" Humana Gold Choice Medicare Advantage plan and, of course, pays no premium.

The US messed up bad this past election. Gonna pay a high price for that - literally and figuratively.
All should kneel before King Dump.
I cannot believe somehow so ostentatiously data-driven reposts the big Fox / GOP lie about all of this.

Yes, I know one family, around where I live, personally. Trump supporters. Strange bedfellows!
