Trump administration says 'top MS-13 national leader' arrested
Remember, the Dems told us you can't close the border and arrest the most violent criminals unless we pass immigration laws...but Trump has been doing pretty well with the existing laws.
Good news. Yet he gets due process, unlike students who simply express opinions the Administration does not agree with. Achtung! And then there is the case of the woman from Canada, and how many others? https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/canadian-detained-us-border-1.7483021. She was doing precisely ZERO harm.

The president said that he “couldn’t care less” if foreign automakers raised prices after he announced that he would impose 25% tariffs on all foreign-made automobiles.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post. We have laws which allow the U.S. to arrest and/or deport violent criminals regardless of any immigration laws. I'm strongly in favor of incarcerating violent criminals and deporting them (if relevant).
Recent deportations of alleged Tren de Aragua gang members to El Salvador's mega-prison were conducted without due process. There have been numerous reports which stated that some of the deportees were not affiliated with Tren de Aragua or any other gangs. The Sixth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, in part,"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial..." The Trump administration needs to uphold the Constitution and follow applicable laws when conducting these proceedings. They can't just disregard any laws that they don't like!
@Observant1, history says that FD1000 does not post after his initial political one and certainly not in response to a well-reasoned post such as yours. He has low intellectual ability.
"They can't just disregard any laws that they don't like!"
I dunno about that... they're sure giving it a good try.
OJ,
You are absolutely correct! The Trump administration believes they are "above the law." I've never seen such a blatant, widespread disregard for law emanating from the executive branch. I suppose this is to be expected when you consider that Trump is a grifter and a convicted felon. Congressional Republicans have relinquished their solemn responsibilty to check executive power. Consequently, the judicial branch must now shoulder the entire responsibility. The Framers of the Constitution did not intend for the government to operate this way. At least our courts have ruled against some of Trump's illegal executive orders.
I have a few questions for you. Do you believe that we are a nation of laws and that all U.S. residents are bound by these laws? If certain goals/outcomes are deemed worthy, does it matter how these goals are attained? In other words, do you believe the end justifies the means?
2 easy questions that haven't been answered by Dems because they would never admit anything. 1) Is the number of illegal immigrants much lower? 2) Is the number of criminal illegal immigrants that have been arrested much higher?
Remember, this thread is only about these 2 questions, nothing else.
FD1000 believes that as long as his portfolio is healthy nothing else matters.
Seriously? I didn't like the previous admin at all, but I didn't cry and complain every day. It's your turn now. What would you do if the current admin will do OK and the next one will be another GOP?

Why do you frequently resort to whataboutism when responding to legitimate questions? I will provide another opportunity to answer previous questions (if you choose to do so) related to recent immigrant deportations.

You would think that MAGAts would have enough brain cells to know that bringing up immigration is a losing proposition for a debate given the buffoon killed a bipartisan bill that was proclaimed by both parties to be perhaps the best we've seen in ages (maybe ever) because
(drum roll)
the buffoon wanted immigration as a key election issue.
Congratulations for venturing beyond the confines of the right-wing media bubble! Unlike Fox News, USAFacts is a good source for fair, unbiased information. The following details from the linked article may help readers better understand illegal crossings at the US-Mexico border.
"Around September 2020, the number of detected crossings began to increase and remained high along the southwest US border. During this time and into 2021, the recidivism rate — the likelihood that an individual attempted to cross into the US more than once in a single year — nearly quadrupled compared to pre-pandemic levels. A 2023 Congressional Research Service report attributed this primarily to Title 42, a policy active from March 2020 to May 2023, which made it easier for the government to expel migrants at the border, but did not penalize repeated crossing attempts."
I'm just looking at facts, not politics, where most politicians on both sides have not done much
Man, it's like talking to a rock that talks back.
As I said...

Oh, I'm sorry, forgive me, he actually did it twice.
So, YES, politicians on BOTH SIDES did TRY and were prepared to pass meaningful immigration bills twice until the buffoon intervened in the minds of derelict MAGAt legislators for his own re-election initiatives.
As always with MAGAts, just skip past the base facts and stroll onward to your alternative facts, especially when the base facts negate the worthiness of any BS that will undoubtedly be offered up.

Any MAGAts in the house wanna take a stab at that one?
