A million and one thanks for your diligent work here Shadow. I had been waiting for something from PIMCO and you saved me some legwork. Again, many thanks for the most useful thread of the year here.
Reply to @Hiyield007: I am glad you found this helpful. Everyone is interested in what one of their holdings is going to pay annually. This thread always seems to get a lot of views.
I am confused regarding the difference between the record and ex dividend date. I am to the understanding that if you own a fund on the record date, you will receive the distribution. For example and from Vanguard's website, if you own Vanguard Primecap Fund at the close on 12-14-2012, you will the distribution.
Fidelity does not list record dates, but instead ex dates. For example, Fidelity Spartan Total Market Index Fund has an ex date of 12-14-2012.
My question is, what date would one need to sell the fund in order not to receive the distribution?
(If the latter doesn't work, you can navigate from the home page: https://individualinvestor.myleggmason.com/portal/server.pt, use the drop down menu from "Account Services", select Tax Center, and from there look for 2012 Projected Year-End Distributions.)
