White House Raises Flags Back To Full Staff Soon After McCain’s Death
Ted, I hate to be the one to inform you that there is no bottom to the cess pool that creature inhabits. What's almost harder to understand is where is the outrage from especially military members of his administration and political leaders of his own party. Talk about snowflakes. Their lack of moral courage is disgusting

Same thought. John Kelly (Chief of Staff) lost a son who was fighting for that flag.
When the AMERICAN LEGION - representing 2 million veterans - publicly slams you for disrespecting a veteran and distinguished national leader, you are seriously in trouble, which clearly explains the rapid backtracking and semi-sincere statement this afternoon.... a statement that would have been acceptable enough on Saturday night, but now comes across as blatantly forced by adverse political and PR pressure.
Apparently something orange and whiny in DC ialso s miffed that the majority of TV coverage these days is about McCain and not him. And that so many people in the US are mourning McCain - who despised him to the end. Womp-womp, dude.
Such a petty little hypocritical twitwaffle, this one. Bet ya he'll be whining soon again about how NFL players must 'respect' the flag and our soldiers, despite allowing his inflated personal ego do the exact opposite for someone who gave more for this country -- and yes, even for him -- than he ever would or could for others.
Heck, as someone said earlier, could you ever imagine a time when people would pass on having a sitting President speak at their funeral?
That said, can he be on 'good behaviour' for a few days? I doubt it.
I guess something orange (aka the unindicted co-conspirator) just couldn't go without controversy or the media talking about someone else for so long.....so predictable. Gods only knows what he'll be doing during the funeral services as he's on the golf course again-- whining about poll numbers or Hillary's emails again, probably.
He should be grateful that McCain’s unfortunate passing has briefly diverted public attention away from all the messy investigating, prosecuting, guilty pleas and granting of immunity now taking place in several different judicial venues.
One may suspect his “flipping” on how he would display the flag during this time of national mourning was but one more calculated attempt to divert public attention & media away from the serious stuff. These kinds of minds tend to traverse those unorthodox routes - odd as it may seem to most.

Isn't it a little beyond that? Why does John Kelly work for him knowing all too well what kind of person he is?
Likely very true ... from a WaPo article this morning, and confirmed in other reporting in recent days.....
Wilson added that with McCain in particular, the funeral snub perhaps stings more than most, in part because Trump can’t abide not being the main focus of adulation. “You know what is making Donald Trump the craziest right now is he’s not the center of attention,” Wilson said. “He’s crawling the damn walls because they’re running story after story on John McCain and he hates it because he’s not the center of attention.”

My first reaction was he figured "okay, I checked the box about showing 'mourning', what more do they want from me?"
