I have not sold any MFCFX since Rao left, but I am wary. Based on the discussions above and what I have observed while owning the fund for about four years, I'd say it's a growthy World Allocation fund. I agree that it has rarely had a significant b…
I reviewed my e-mails from TD Ameritrade. I did receive the annual report on Dec 6; hidden at the end of the manager's discussion of the year's performance is the paragraph you cited above about reorganization. Other than that, nada. I e-mailed Turn…
Just added to my position in GPGOX and I like the looks of Grandeur Peak's international fund (GPIOX). These guys had a fine record at Wasatch and are fast out of the gate with their own funds.
Thanks for all this info. To the best of my recollection, TD Ameritrade did not provide such notices although I will have to review my e-mails to confirm if I missed something. I pay pretty close attention to this stuff.
Thanks to all for the comments and advice. I am a long-time investor in several Oakmark funds and I established my largest non-retirement account position in 2005 in OAKBX, with the goal of using it to anchor my active portfolio. My intention was to…
My two disappointments were RSEMX (Royce Special Equity Multi-Cap) and CIPSX (Champlain Small Company). Other members have spoken about Royce's trying to put its thumb in every pie these days. I have now severed all ties with them. CIPSX did not ben…
Despite the miserable performance, and not just this year, Clyde McGregor has managed to get himself all manner of media coverage. Re-open the fund? Gimme a break! I thought the departure of Studzinski was very mysterious and not handled well by man…
This article also makes the case for owning a health-care fund. Never thought of my HQL as a fund for the long haul until I saw these numbers.

In addition to the high ER of WGRNX, the fund's holdings really turn me off: 4 out of the top 10 stock positions are tobacco companies. I couldn't hold my nose and buy this one even though I have no socially-conscious funds in any of my accounts.
I did try to place an order at Schwab for test purposes and I was rejected with this message:
"We cannot process your order for this fund. Please contact a Schwab representative for assistance." No problem at TDA where I do own some. Sorry to lead m…
I have a large position in OAKBX and I am going to reduce it. I called them and registered my dissatisfaction with how they announced Studzinski's "retirement" after a year when the fund could not get its bond sleeve to produce anything. Wasn't ther…
I would check out the Guggenheim Frontier Markets ETF (FRN) and the MS Frontier Markets CEF (FFD). Each fund replicates an entirely different index which makes them hard to compare. FRN, for instance, has big relative weightings in Latin America in …
I have owned all four affected funds over many years. Our only remaining position is in BRUSX. I realize that I have been sucked into the fallacy of holding the closed fund simply because it's closed or because I'm too cheap to pay the fund supermar…
