Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
Reply to @VintageFreak: That's because it is an index fund. I think most of the institutional investors prefer to invest in index funds to retain control of their allocation.
Kevin,
Been in VSTCX and VSEQX in the past, however, not completely convinced about quant funds, though I hold one AEMGX. Never a fan of VEXPX and its plethora of subadvisors/mgrs. Healthcare, I already own PRHSX, so ruled out. Already own Commodit…
Reply to @Mona:
I have VDIGX since 2006, much before Kiplinger recognized it. It had less 500M when I invested. Proud owner of the fund since the new mgr came aboard. :-)
Looking at my overall portfolio, which I shared recently in a lengthy posts/thread, I am thinking adding to short term bonds that I held at V'rd, since I sold PRSNX since then (also sold PTTRX version in 401k), buy VINEX, and rest of it into VDIGX o…
IMO, they should have made PRWCX, a global fund. A value oriented fund, proven manger though not for a very long term, with global mandate is a very good combo.
Mgr of this fund is on the panel for their multi-asset fund panel and I think he is goi…

Reply to @VintageFreak: There is no purchase fee like for their international smallcap index fund. The only it has is annual a/c maintenance fee if balance is less than 10k but that would also be waived if you sign-up for e-delivery of statements, c…
Thanks Tony!
Portfolio spread across 4 accounts at both V'rd and TDA.
If I sell VHGEX, I want to replace it with a value oriented fund at V'rd. This is at V'rd with no brokerage attached to it. My high conviction fund at V'rd is VDIGX but I already…
Here is some more info. I have the habit of posting my questions both at M.O and M*. I just posted the following info as one poster requested for it. Doing the same here to help you give better advice.
I don't have access to M* premium content so I…
Reply to @MikeM: Thanks Mike for your good and thoughtful suggestions.
My 4 (2 now) taxable portfolio is beating my retirement portfolio for the few years. Of course, there are no bond funds in taxable. It may not be as conservative relatively thou…
Reply to @Investor: Thanks for all good suggestions!
VHGEX is at Vanguard, so I can replace it only with a Vanguard fund.
PAUDX: I want to give it/him some more time. Generally, I am a patient investor and give at least 3 years to the fund/mgr. I…

To make it easy to review, I will reorganize the portfolio and post it below.
I will split them into Core and Satellite funds.
As the name suggest core funds are core of my portfolio. They are diversified funds and cover pretty much most of the are…
I have ARTKX close to 25% of my taxable portfolio, which consists of just 4 funds until recently but I sold OAKBX (after holding for 7 years), and AQRNX (like most of you), and hold only FPACX and ARTKX. My goal for this portfolio is short term, and…
Mike,
I am big fan of ARTKX/ARTGX mgrs. I have ARTKX from 2006, when I switched from OAKIX to it as it was more multicap compared to OAKIX. I did not buy ARTGX when they started it, which I regret in retrospect, and bought it last year.
In its sho…
Thank you all and especially BobC (pls. no offense to others).
I want to thank him wholeheartedly as he has been a long term contributor of this forum as well as Fund Alarm earlier. I believe he works as investment advisor too, not sure how he gets …
Not trying to belittle you or anyone, but what is criteria you guys use to select funds. I see such statements 'not match for me' or 'lost the confidence' after a bout of underperformance of selected funds. What is criteria that you use to select f…
Also, I have not read about Global Reach fund as I already own GPGOX. Can someone, who read the prospectus, explain difference between these two funds ?
I am a bit confused with the mandate for the EM fund mandate. It talks about both EM and FrontierbEM. Does it cover the space covered by two Wasath funds WAEMX & WAFMX ?
Mona,
Some of us, including David, sold MACSX and bought MAINX and MAPIX (bought, if already not there in our portfolios). In my case, I replaced MACSX with MAINX (I already had MAPIX) and adjusting the stock/bond exposure appropriately using these…
I endorse Mark's views completely. Harry Browne's PP theory may have merit but we have other cheaper options available as pointed by David.
This fund company showed poor fiduciary responsibility throughout its history and the manager did not show an…
I pointed that out since you used the term PURE large cap and it is not about whether I am happy to call it something or someone else. I own the fund pretty much since inception and know that they predominantly invest upper portion of mid-cap and lo…
Wonderful commenary, David. Thanks for all your efforts to help us out.
I am one of those in minority, who would stick to ARIVX. I brought it recently and I would give him three years of time. I am not into fund-hopping, jumping from one to another…
I came across an interesting thread on M* data and tool problems a few weeks go, a relevant discussion to this thread.

In my case, I had an account with insignificant amounts, hence consolidated. Of course, I understand that these agreements with fund companies can change anytime in future and Trow can become TF again at a later point of time.
I do not know about no minimums but it's been a while since they started offering Trow funds at TDA. I moved my funds to TDA last year to consolidate my accounts.
