My limited knowledge tells me BTC and Ethereum are the best two plays in crypto. Have read many stories that suggest the coinbase stock may be overvalued. It's an interesting way to play crypto - buying Coinbase IPO. Somewhat analagous of Buffett bu…
This s a great thread with a lot of good analysis. Thanks for the replies to my post. Wanted to circle back on my comment re: MGGPX vs. PRGSX. After reviewing it further... I think one big reason I selected MG over PRG was the turnover. T Rowe’s tur…
I hate to say it ... but I think crypto acceptance is accelerating for many reasons. My little experiment is up 25% since my first post here. My regret is that I didn’t take it seriously earlier. I’ve dismissed it for years.
A nice primer for new …

Interesting share. I'm looking forward to reading Charles post further. I'm in a few of those funds. Quick observations on a few of the 12:
PRBLX seems like a fine fund but it tracks so closely to the S&P 500 Index, why not just invest in an S…
@BenWP congrats. The 300z is underrated and cabriolet to boot.. but you showed your true colors with the Panoz... what an amazing vehicle. I recently spoke with a well known Ferrari enthusiast /personality and his biggest regret? ... not purchasing …
YTD performance is .34% for this well known and outstanding long term fund. Just curious how current investors in Wellington feel about this closure to intermediaries? Is this a good sign, neutral or negative to you?
I’m such a simpleton... with rare exception (bonds for ballast? / which I exited) - I compare all equity funds I’m considering to the S&P 500 benchmark. If that’s what Buffet advises to do with retirement and plans to do for his family...it seem…
@royal4 you’re right about the threat of country’s starting their own digital currency and I would never buy non fungible assets but something is afoot...why not try and make something of it? https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/03/25/business/fidelity-…

Biggest threat is governments outlawing Bitcoin. That said, much smarter people than I are adding it to their Arsenal. Fide…
I hope so. My two EM: FSEAX +6.15% and ARTYX +3.79% and I wish that was my cost basis 1/1/2021 but it was not. Counting on these two to finish 2021 strong.
A bit of a drop this afternoon/evening - allows for a better entry for another $100.00.
Almost at $1000.00 (total gambling money) for this. Still seeing pretty impressive growth by DCA. I'm starting to believe I will regret not making it a 10K exp…
@JD_co I especially agree with “Bonds are the anchor of your portfolio” - yes they have been a very very heavy anchor.
But “ The Fed taking on more debt is like giving a drunk another drink.”
@royal4 - that’s a fair question: “ What happens if in 2-2.5 years the SP500 index drops 20-30% and then takes 3-5 years to recover?”
I ask myself that question regularly.
But another way to look at it... how many times in history has the S&P…
@davidmoran “ Where if anywhere will you put spare moneys? Where should I put moneys now which I will not need for a few years (not a decade, but not 3-4y either)?” ...
Just saw your question back to me... since I like to ask questions when I’m uns…
That’s my problem... I don’t find equity funds to have high volatility. “Because many retires that have enough don't want to have the high volatility of stocks” But I guess high volatility is somewhat subjective given each persons investing timeline…
@rono That's incorrect. You can sell crypto on Paypal and receive the funds via check or direct deposit in your account. Their intention is that you use crypto at their merchants. But they do not prevent you from withdrawing. https://www.paypal.com/…
@BenWP I’m with you but I’m on that site looking for 280Z and Audi TT and Porsche... values are up... you are right. But so are gas prices?!?! What happened? Why are gas prices so high?
@davidmoran in this economy... with the wealth of investment choices... Why.... “have a lot of money earning zero too”?
That’s not criticism ... I’m trying to learn what I don’t know. I’m looking out for a family member and asking the same questi…
Only 8 percent... on a total of now $750.00 invested in Bitcoin. But I have a whole $1,000 that I’m playing with in Bitcoin. A week or so ago, I was up 15 percent and before that 20 but my entry point was better.
My experiment is... can I keep inv…
@davidmoran @LewisBraham ... no argument with that (shorting). I was referencing bond funds in general and how there are many people still promoting them and I’m having a hard time with it.
@bee no... it was a good share by you. You have great shares. I was just referencing @WABAC post as it was a good one.

So I’m still DCA into Bitcoin and because I DCA recently... I’m only up 8 percent YTD... but here’s a story worth reading. “Bitcoin is a fad... knee jerk reaction”

Do you manage for the exception or for the rule?
That is the question. IMHO... many people manage for the exception. If you do... you will love Bonds right now. You will justify w…
I think all will flame out. The question is... can you hop on the train in year 1-2-3 of a 10 plus year reign? Some of the names mentioned... Joel Tillinghast, for example, I mean he was untouchable early on with FLPSX... now? I’m not as enamored. I…
@davidmoran ... LOL... I only wear tie shoes. They may be long established...but I “feel” like there haven’t been as many sector, market cap or class options etc until recently (last year or so). Note I said “feel”... so maybe I’m just not as infor…
@davidmoran I’m more comfortable with mutual funds - it’s what I know. That said, there are times I wished I could buy and sell my funds a bit quicker vs. 2 day turn around for 2 different fund family exchange . Not that I do that much. But... anywa…
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I didn’t really DCA and bought at the high. That said, I didn’t purchase 100% of what I wanted in each of those funds. Roughly 50%. Upon reflection, I should have gone in with 15 or 25 and then DCA the rest of the way. …
Short Life. I like longer lifes. In short life... still trailed the S&P 500 and that's a benchmark I compare all funds to. On the plus side its APR vs Peer is positive. But I would wait to see more history before I would invest in this fund. But…
