@David_Snowball,
Thanks.
Not to digress but i do not have comprehension of what "Absolute Return" means, though i have seen that term used in fund name and otherwise used in the context of investing.

Once Huge companies sponsored those ETFs, the space was legitimized and Congress lost any power they may have had to control the monster. Previously, only the rich and cool kids dabbled in this space. Soon cryptocurrencies will permeate many retir…
Not sure I ever looked at PVFIX before as I tend to stay within large and mid cap. It is a 21 yr old fund. As of 12/31/2023, holds 43% in cash. PVCMX is another small / micro cap value fund frequently mentioned in this forum that goes heavily int…
XMHQ does not reconstitute until for a few months (may be 4 more months). So, expect to see SCMI and its moods in XMHQ for a while. I too happen to own (a small) position in XMHQ. Thanks to @WABAC for mentioning it in this forum.
According to TRP website, TCAF has reached $1 Billion in assets.
Would be Interesting to know how much of this money moved from other TRP funds and how much of it is new to TRP.
May be but that can be a good thing. I was very circumspect about t…
I try to avoid funds with heavy inflows but this fund is not widely available - to my knowledge, of the big box brokerages, currently available only at Schwab - as such I am making an exception.
I have been pleased with MRFOX performance (not just TR) for the one month I have held it. Decided to do additional research on it and am surprised to note M* says MRFOX portfolio is of one of the lowest Quality (as of Aug 31, 2023). Its D/C ratio…
For a Co. under a deferred prosecution agreement since 2021, BA has increasingly gone on an overdrive in peddling B.S. rather than making meaningful changes, which is not possible without an overhaul of the leadership team starting with the Board an…

Good posts. In the history of AI did we ever have the current level of widespread consumer (and as such private companies’s) participation? If not, the current enthusiasm is unique. May be the current popularity has to do with the consumer dire…
Not to digress but I would put Sector or Industry bets in IRA (rather than taxable) as sectors go in and out of favor and also one may have, as Stillers does, a max limit on sector bets, requiring trimming. Broad based ETFs such as QQQ, SPY, and ev…
Thanks Stillers.
Your NVDA trade is already making money for you!
SMCI is down only 4% as I write but a lot of NEAGX holdings are down today as much or more. So, today could be a good day to add if one is playing for a big 2024 gain for SCG.
Entered order today for next-to-last sliver of NEAGX per the same reasons as last BUY.
Good trade on GOOG. I hope it works out with NVDA as well.
Just curious, Do you mind sharing what %age of your portfolio you anticipate is your NEAGX positio…
Closed end means no involuntary outflows to shareholders, except required distributions. This is an AUM lock which is not possible with an ETF.
From the article in the OP, i am not able to tell how this fund is materially from his existing fund, …

See my link on this thread from Feb 3rd on page 8 for historical returns for Marshfield equity composite vs SP500

Thanks. That link just spools and does not load on my iPad.
@WABAC MRFOX has limited brokerage availability in order to control inflows. When it only existed as a separate account, $$$ flowed in heavily when the market turned down.
Do you or any one here have access to the strategy returns by year (relative…
MRFOX strategy appears to be around for 20 years, based on this letter -

Initiated new position in BIZD and ETRN in my income (and some growth) portfolio.
Shifted some stuff around to consolidate positions a bit as well, but nothing major.
Ron,
ETRN is an interesting midstream co. M* FV is about 50% above current pric…
I think SAI is a trade name (owned by Fidelity). Not sure SEC could have prevented Fidelity from using in the SAI series.
Agree that now it forces us to read both prospectus and SAI - at least look at the table of contents.
Fidelity has a factor quality etf, FQAL but unfortunately it does not perform nearly as well as FUQIX.
FYI - FUQIX, "This fund is only available to clients enrolled in Fidelity® Wealth Services."
If anyone here subscribes to these Services, please…
I'll admit I own it in my taxable. And I have had good, and bad, investing experiences. :)
What brought it to your attention?
Please share what the bad experience was from owning SPGP
More portfolio information is now available. 92% in equity and top 7 are Mag 7 as of 12/31/2023.
