  • @hank, Yes, I think it costs at least $500K to start an ETF, especially for the first one. I too think it is a great ticker. I think you can use it if it is not being used - check the SEC rules. If you are superstitious, you may avoid it no m…
  • In the WZRD thread there is an indication that the manager is a credible person. My guess would be that the marketing of this fund did not go as well as planned and the manager decided to pursue more profitable alternatives ( cut bait?). Human li…
  • Since we spent an entire thread talking about this ETF, I feel compelled to post this PSA. Liquidation is approx Thursday two weeks from today. If any one is holding this ETF in a taxable account, do not wait until the date of liquidation as you m…
  • You got it - None of them cared about the monetary outcome. It is a different universe. Someone here commented that this is a contribution to the Fuhrer and I think that is a reasonable take. Those of us that buy lottery tickets in the stock mar…
  • No magic investment product?
  • Is the $1.2b granted compensation income subject to tax, not off settable against any cap losses? Not sure why you all are complaining about the current shareholders getting screwed. Was there a different outcome expectation from the get go? None…
  • Before switching companies take time to review claims processing reviews. No point switching to save money and then face hardship with the insurance company when on the off chance you make a claim.
  • @JD_co, Am I correct in assuming that the Innovator defined outcome and buffer products just get rolled, rather than get liquidated, when the current outcome period ends so investor's do not have a taxable event? Of course, when the current outcom…
  • Hi Ron, Thanks. Have you compared this with the Innovator ETFs? https://www.innovatoretfs.com/define/etfs/ I have not looked at them in nearly two years but my recollection is they carry similar flavor to this. I am hoping this being a newes…
  • Let us get back on track. "The higher umbrella coverage you have you can bet your arse that your insurance company will fight like tooth and nails to defend you....the senior attorney's will work the case...they don't want to pay up..." May be the…
  • @JD_co searching at ETF.com WZRD was mentioned in two interesting articles / lists - https://www.etf.com/topics/target-outcome https://www.etf.com/topics/income-capital-appreciation May be someone can use these lists to take us to the next level …
  • This dropped nearly 2% on April 11, the day after CPI beat and the 10 yr crossed 4.5%. Except that the chart is acceptable to me.
  • My point is that Umbrella is there so you do not have to get your hands dirty with someone whose interests may not be aligned with yours. @BaluBalu, what does that mean? Even if we try to live a passive, clean life, someone else can try to make cl…
  • @yogibearbull, I guess we can read the fund's strategy in the fund literature, look at daily portfolio holdings and daily NAV changes and make a guess on derivative plays to see if we like what we think we know. Or just look at daily price if you …
  • @JD_co, Good find. It does have daily noticeable moves - lost nearly 2% on April 11. up 1+% over the last one month - may be that is what you mean by flattish. M* puts this ETF in the "US Funds Derivative Income" category. Anyone that has ta…
  • I always felt like I am over insured. I never bought life insurance, except when I was working and had term life through work. I used to max out on that (paying premiums beyond what the employers paid) because I thought my work was my biggest life…

  • I called two insurance companies my two neighbors are using to get a quote and both of those companies said they are no longer writing new policies in my zip code. So, it is possible I have to renew or go without home owner's insurance. I heard si…
  • I like @Old_Joe reproduction of the posts from the other thread better than my reproduction and so deleting the rest of this post. (This forum does not have a Delete Post function and so you are stuck with this useless post.)
  • @BaluBalu- Be sure to keep us informed of your findings- maybe a new thread devoted to the insurance situation? good idea. May be @Observant1 / thread moderator can move our recent posts from this thread to the new thread so this thread stays clean…

  • That Q&A says something to the effect that in a securities lending, if the price of stock decreases brokerages make money and the investors in the stock do not. How does the brokerage making money is contingent on price of stock lent going down…

  • Along with MRFOX, my new Schwab Employer sponsored brokerage account allowed for TRAIX (TRowe Price Capital Appreciation) purchase - I could not believe that the transaction went through. Also bought a spot of MAFAX. Schwab has some good mutual …

  • @msf, The 2.62% ER I mentioned is the Net Expenses stated in the Annual Fund Operating Expenses table at the fund site I linked. I do not see the 1.72% you mention at that link. If that is the Adjusted ER, that is fine. I have no desire to debat…
  • Mike, Please post the excerpts. BTW, QDSNX picks the 3 mo T-bill index as their benchmark - I think I posted this in my first post.
  • I lost count of how many times this forum has discussed PVCMX as an Absolute Returns fund. E.g., You can search David Snowball’s posts on PVCMX. QDSNX touts itself as an Absolute Return fund and hence the comparison with other Absolute Return fund…
  • Goldman dropped interest rates on their savings account product. They picked a good day to send us that email.

  • This post is for anyone (not necessarily responding to @fred495) "The Fund invests in a portfolio of AQR mutual funds, providing exposure to both Absolute Return strategies and Active Multi-Asset strategies." Its benchmark is 3 mo T-Bill index It…
  • At Schwab, it is strange that I was not able to pull up this fund using the main page search function which is what I have always used. But the Research tab has its own search function which pulled up this fund; you can also pull up this fund using…
  • Thanks, @Yogibearbull. It would be easier for us to check GEV vs GE cost basis by the relative unrealizes gain because it is a recent spin. I would use April 2 opening prices to see if the brokerages are allocating the cost basis between GE and GE…
  • @yogibearbull and anyone else that owns GE and GEV, do you mind sharing if in your brokerage account, the gain shown for GE is only about 15% higher than that for GEV? More info in my previous post in this thread.
  • I received GEHC and GEV from owning GE. I understood these to be tax free spin offs in which case the cost basis in my GE shares should be allocated to GEHC and GEV proportionate to the fair value on the date of distribution. Looking at my accoun…
  • So do we think the 5 to 10 yr Treasury rates are going down or higher which of course will have an impact on the 5+ yr CD rates? Everyone on TV seems to be correlating equity prices to rate cuts by the Fed Reserve. I would have thought equity pric…

  • Just to clarify my prior message. In my taxable TD account (margin enabled), I can place a sell and a corresponding buy the same day because there are always legacy marginable securities. It is in my IRA account that TD prevented me from placing a…
  • At TD the only MM funds available are their own (Schwab MMFs). Even those are not marginable the first 30 days, which meant that the sale of these non-marginable MM have to settle first before I can place a buy order of another security.
