Hyperbole is reserved for sales people (and for outrage machine like news / opinion media) and may not be suitable for polite company. However, let those that are giddy feel it and hope they are never on the receiving end of the wrath.
Hope nobody’s shorting this stock today…..
None in this forum. It would be interesting to see how the stock trades going forward, given so many took their gains in the last four days.
Hanging on to a few Trump trades did not feel great the last…
Having worked in the DC machine, I can say that DC bureaucracy was nauseating even 20 years ago. Add to that politicians and power brokers, I do not know how DC will change in the next 4 years but status quo is not going to allow the country functi…
Market breadth today is not consistent with price action of some of the indices’ would indicate. MOAT which currently occupies the mid cap value box sucked today with 0.8% gain.
More people and industries will move to Red States. If you are into real estate investing, that would be my location bet.
I am expecting Bay Area real estate where I live to underperform some of the Red States.
I am more interested in predicting …
Unlike in the first Term, now he has identified Trump loyalists he can appoint to run various govt agencies and he will and thus he can drive his agenda with less friction (replace with your word of choice). It will be a much more radically differe…
BA down today. Management should have waited a few more days for the election to be over before agreeing to the new contract. I think BA union members are smarter than BA management, which is reflected in the stock price. I am not motivated to ad…
Many Thanks @catch. Everything was as expected, except real estate sector. Last go around XLE did not do that well but I did suspect the euphoria could lift those stocks today. But why no love for RE? Just the blowout in rates? I think Investo…
You can find red in international stocks. If you are underweight on some of these that have nothing to do with the US, they may be potential buys. I have a few of these. Then I have FNMA which is up 33%.

Odds in the betting markets: Polymarket, Kalshi, & Predictit. All three show 90+% for Trump as of 8:30 PM PST. They were near tied as of 4:30 PM PST.
They are showing 99% as of 11:10 PM PST.

@WABAC, I am yet to use my MFO premium account. I need to set aside time to learn and use it, rather than going with the old habit of using M* premium.
Thanks for the info. FSIXX is better than FDLXX by >20 bps.
I am currently using FZDXX in my Fidelity IRA. Seems like I can pick up 4-5 basis points
by buying FIGXX at Merrill and transferring to Fidelity. Can I do better?
@BaluBalu, FWIW, I really like the Capital Group ETFs, particularly CGDV for LCV. Not sure what 'quality factor' means so I can't say it "overweighs" it.
Thanks Mike. I have near full position in CGDV, with a bit of room but not enough. (Incident…
@WABAC,
It is OK if Quality is in the name or not. Most Quality funds I know are blend or growth. The few Value funds I know that have Quality in their name do not score well in M* factor profile for Quality. I am assuming you have access to M* …
Why does Schwab give me this notice just now and is not accepting my ETF buy order,
"This order cannot be accepted because the Extended Hours Trading session is closed."
Edit: I was able to place the extended hours trade when i tried the fourth t…

Last week data release
payrolls and ISM manufacturing were underwhelming and inflation (super core) and wages came in hotter than expected. In the positive economic news was GDP. Unemployment rate unchanged at 4.1%
Cut my position in MRFOX by 50% down to 40K with proceeds going into CPAI, FCLCX, and SPMO.
You were way more involved than me with MRFOX. By that standard I own too much. I am a lousy seller. Thanks for posting your sell.
Are any of the buys…
@rforno,
Call your United card customer service to see if they no longer require you to charge at least once a year to extend the expiration of your United miles.
If SMS texts are not secure, what is the solution? Physical athenticator? But big companies like to cut costs and may not be interested in providing physical ones!
Recently my credit score is increasing. One behavior I changed is pay off most of the balance before or soon after statement closed but before calendar month end. As to cause and effect, I am not sure.
sell NVDA and buy INTC
NIXT is an ETF for S&P 500 rejects. I do not think there is an ETF for DJIA rejects. I bought a few of DJIA rejects and they did very well after getting kicked out.
MOAT has good amount of turnover and I do not recall it ever having a cap gain distribution.
I have owned all sorts of ETFs over the past 20+ years and have a good comprehension of the situations when cap gain distributions are a possibility. I …
"Long term performance between the two [ETF and the mutual fund classes] is very close."
In the spirit of sharing info (division of labor) -
It is not the performance tracking one is concerned about. Any cap gains triggered by either class is all…
Good catches @Sven.
FYI, Vanguard patent on ETF expired in 2023 and other companies can issue ETFs as separate class (not as clones) of their mutual funds, which I would watch out for.
I have to reread the registration doc to see if Hedge equity…
