Thanks for the update. Is there a typo in the sentence before the sentence in bold?
The returns for the week were impressive across the board. What happened to PFF in a week when both bond market and stock market did well?
Does the table include…
I did not add to MAXJ after the starting position when it occurred to me that subsequent share creation when equity prospects are lower can lower the final outcomes for earlier investors. The manager has no incentive to protect earlier investors. …
I recently shared with a bunch of PhDs and MDs a scientific article written for the layman. After each of them vouched they read the article, I asked them what they got out of it. To my surprise, their summary was as varied as the number of people…
It seems any comment perceived as negative about this fund raises emotions in this forum. I can not afford attachments of any kind - that is a luxury afforded to immortals.
If you Sell, no skin off anybody's nose. You said it's lagging PRWCX, w…
Bitcoin has finite supply and 94% of max supply is already issued and owned. Gold potentially has unlimited supply. Binance token BNB also has limited supply. For some reason no one talks about BNB or has anyone asked for an ETF of BNB. Why?

@stayCalm,
Let us know if you are able to buy EMPIX.
In this space, two or three funds may not provide meaningful diversification. For the most part, when XXXX hits the fan, they all go down together but I do acknowledge some historic idiosyncr…
Sorry, I think you may have mentioned to me before about being with an RIA.
What is the ILS you tried to buy? (ILS I know means insurance linked securities.)
I am fine leaving this thread where it is - no need to kick this over to OT - it is about investing.
Do you mind sharing the weblink to InvestTech?. I could google but I may end up in a copy cat site. I am sure others would also appreciate the …
I thought Schwab does not offer EMPIX to retail investors - I thought one needs advisory account. Has that changed? Are there any work around such a restriction?
I think the $250 Min is pretty inflexible but I too would be interested in knowing e…
My Drafts will work for me. Thanks.
I will try to draft a comment in this thread but not post and let us see if that puts the thread also in the My Drafts folder. It decreases the amount of work for the intended result!
Edit: it worked this t…
I use bookmark more like archive. I look at bookmarked threads only when I am looking for something from the past I vaguely remember. I use it more as a back stop to search which is not fool proof.
The read / unread feature allows me with not ha…
It was amusing to read that capital preservation is secondary for a fund that touts to be a bond fund (of any kind). Admire the manager's honesty. That is full disclosure for you.
Not necessarily related to the current discussion in this thread but I thought some forum members might enjoy listening to this Howard Marks video. I have been meaning to share this video but I did not want to start a new thread because I am not lo…

I salute Dennis for his objective look.
It boils down to what one expects…
My expectations are from my purchase date - see my previous post. Everything else is meaningless for me. As I mentioned previously, I sold PRWCX to buy this fund.
I would say a solid money center bank callable bonds, callable Agency bonds, PAAA, and RPHIX are all good choices. Instead of either / or, you can split between them.
My expectations for this fund performance since my purchase keep going down. Started with an expectation that it would outperform PRWCX, then dropped to matching PRWCX, now hoping it would outperform high yield bond funds. Let us see how long I ha…
I would have picked “ZEN” instead of “ROAR” for a catastrophe insurance fund!. Any one interested in this fund should read its objective:
“The primary investment objective of the Brookmont Catastrophic Bond ETF (the “Fund”) is to seek to generate …
This Fund’s closing or not closing at $1b is of no relevance to me when the complex manages another $5b in the same strategy. That is the AUM I recall seeing when I checked it’s SAI the last time. That number may be higher now. How did this Fund’s…
I am probably one of the few hold outs here with this investment.
As of 8/31/24, the last date when the full holdings are available, the fund held 16 investments. That is beyond being concentrated. It also held 25% cash. The US market seems unin…
Unfortunately, many people get on Boards to further their own careers (or score cards) and not to take on a fiduciary responsibility. This is not dissimilar to why many people seek appointments to public offices.
I had a friend who once shared w…
I am not a Motley Fool subscriber but I knew a couple of guys in the CFO organization at my ex-employer who were paid subscribers and the stocks they talked to me about did well.
It would be good to hear from subscribers of MF services or of any cr…
ReOpening of ND is supposed to be a moment of great pride for the French. Is there a reason the fringe could not wait for a few more days to topple the Govt and dampen the national mood?
They could not delay their gratification even for three days?

Sometimes a rubber stamping board is better than a dysfunctional, and mediocrity promoting board. Look at Intel Board many of whom have been on the board for all the years during which the company made many missteps and destroyed shareholder wealth.
But he won't pay $57b in taxes... no matter what.
I was going off of @msf post. I did not read the links in his post. That is why I said “if”.
In any case, it is a redistribution of wealth from other shareholders to Elon. I presume none of us…
If Elon is going to pay $57b in tax in 2024 as a result of the pay package, we should welcome the extra money to the Govt coming purely from other Tesla shareholders. I do not think he can do more harm or good with an extra $43b. Let him have it. …
Thanks. Now, I see the +ve mark at M*. The distribution probably is about 9.5%, similar to last year.
As an aside, I think last year total return was much higher than in 2024.
Good that various funds in the space go ex on different dates.
Why is Ms. Khan ok with this? BLK also gets a lot of federal govt business - just getting too big and is able to sway sentiment with whatever fancies it to get more business.
When are they launching their private credit ETF?
