ducrow, I find their premium membership of value, especially (for me) the premium search tool. BUT, I do not pay for the premium membership. I get it for free thru TROWE PRICE who will pay the fee for you IF you have $100,00 invested with them. I…
Charles, unfortuately for me, I cannot upgrade to ie11, I am at the hihgest upgrade for my operating system. I run VISTA Home Premium and can only upgrade to ie9 which is what i am running today. But thank you for the suggestions!!
David,
I just downloaded Chrome and was ABLE to view GO funds and the 3-alarm funds w/o a problem!
In the past I was able to access GO funds, but I have not tried to in the last few months. Please let me know what you think is going on!
Thx, Ma…
Charles, still not displaying for me. It just churns and churns, I do get the "footnotes" also, but not the GO funds.
I also seem to have the same problem with 3-alarm funds! HELP!!
Thx, Matt
hank, I don't believe i'm asking a "market-timing" question. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am planning on making some portfolio changes and considering the nice run-up we've had and seasonality/history, somewhat, do I sell into this run…
WOW, great responses, ideas, thoughts and suggestions; I really appreciate everyone's input!!
I have plenty of information to process to help me make an informed choice!!
Thanks, again!
Matt
Thank you all for some great info, insight and suggestions!!
Does anybody have any thoughts on Blackrock Healthcare (SHSAX) "Load Waived" at FIDO or Vanguard Healthcare (VGHCX) also at FIDO and GOLD rated by M*?
I like the idea a pairing with anot…
Unfortunately, I'm a little late on SGOVX, it is closed.
IVFIX looks like a good fund but it does not hold any EM or Asia, something I'm looking for.
Thanks for the suggestions!!
Scott, like you I have been "sort of sitting on my hands" the last few months. I have been adding a little to existing positions, albeit mostly international. I still have about 9% cash that I would like to put to work, but I'm waiting for an "entr…
Anybody building-up cash??
Isn't this slow-bleed upward a little unwarranted? I'm not looking for a 10%-20% correction, but shouldn't we be at a point of a mid-level "correction"? Has the economic data and company profits been that good, looking …
A very good fund and I'm invested in it, so I am glad to see them be a little proactive and close to new investors! I also appreciate the relatively "short notice" they gave (i.e. 10 days).
All too often a fund company will give a 30-day or more a…
chrisblade, glad I could be of some assistance! I'm by no means an expert, especially in FM, but adding a little diversification is usually a good thing.
Also, the avg market cap of MFMPX is about twice the size of WAFMX, another bit of diversific…
chrisblade, I did exactly what you are thinking of doing. After performing my DD I decided it was a prudent thing to do. I know many people might think this is MF "collecting", but I view it as adding a little diversification to an area of the EM …
chip let me clarify the problem. The issue is NOT with the link on the TOP of the MFO Homepage, but with the "discussion board" link in the MIDDLE of the Homepage!!
The top link works just fine, takes me right to the discussion board!! See what y…
cleared the brower and still getting the second window telling me the "discussion board has moved". I must click on the link in the middle of this page.
I am running VISTA home premium and IE8.
Thank you,
Matt
Maybe this is not a problem, but it seems a bit odd.
I've bookmarked the MFO homepage. So when I'm at the MFO Homepage, I click "Discussion", it sends me to another page telling me the discussion board has moved.
That's a bit quirky if you ask me…
Great article Ted, thanks!!
I have alway be partial towards younger funds, for the reasons outlined by that study. That is why I continously keep my eyes open. Forums like this are invaluable for this and many other reasons.
Kenster1, thank you for the info and links.
If the analyst's prediction comes to fruition, then maybe it's a buying opportunity?? I guess, it's the eternal optimist coming out!
Agreed, I too own MAPIX and have no plans on reducing it. At some point I will add to it and get it back to my desired portfolio percentage.
I have found that, for the most part, being contrarian works. Maybe not always, but more often than not, …
I just heard back from FIDO and it's a nogo also. In fact, I called HBSC funds directly and spoke with a wholesale securities rep and he said at this point-in-time it is not available and could not answer if anything is in the works for a LW versio…
AMatMFO, maybe if we ask, then we shall receive???
It will interesting to hear back from these brokerage houses!! We can only hope.
finder, thank you for the info. GPEOX/GPEIX is a very intriquing fund, in fact, the shop itself, looks like a win…
AMatMFO, are you saying you don't have a spare $1m to invest in HSFIX?
You're right, there is no LW on the "A" shares, so that does make it a little difficult to invest in. I called FIDO and asked them to investigate whether they can negotiate a L…
Great article TSP_Transfer (via Ted), that's what I was looking for, thanks!
Looks like it is a huge impact to the index; some of the country weightings really jump. You would think there must be some other FM countries worthly enough to make the…
THANK YOU everyone for your input and thoughts!! The links were very helpful as well, thanks!
The HSBS and MS funds are very intriguing as a compliment to WAFMX. Does any one know when Qatar and the UAE are to be removed from the index.
Ginko, t…
I know there are many savvy and learned investors on this forum. I was hoping to get some insightful comments and/or suggestions.
There just doesn't seem to be a lot of good info on FM funds, outside of HLMOX/HLFMX. This is why I posted.
Any inp…
Reply to @Mona: I've been in Artisan funds for many years and never heard that before, and I do meet their min. $ requirement. How do you go about getting into a closed fund? I have a Brokerage acct with FIDO, do I call my rep. and ask him to pur…
Interesting article! I hold both EM and FM funds, which I'm sure many investors do these days. I'm confident the managers of these funds will make the right maneuvers. We pay them to do so!
Matt
Thanks for the suggestion and link Ted; very good read!
I think VILLX is a little too volatile for these monies, I don't mind a smidgeon of volatility but its SD is almost twice that of HBLIX and more than double of VWINX and BERIX.
Again, thank…
Thank you again!
BERIX is a very popular and good fund, I did come across it during my search. My concerns are:
1) its not very tax efficient (Tax Cost Ratio is approaching 2.00); this holding is in a "taxable" account
2) its stock holding is bel…
Thank you for the comments so far!!
Agree, Wellington is a real plus for HBLIX; that is one of the assets that attracted me to it.
Ted, thanks for the link, glad to see it ranks high, by all rating pundits.
Any thoughts on its 50/50 (approx.) mix…
Thank you all again!
bee, I never knew a tool like that existed; I appreciate you sharing that with me!!
Ted, I will look into your alternative suggestions!
BobC, I try not to get too hung up on "style boxes" but I have a fair amount of "growth" …
