Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
Yes Capitalism always provides competitve advantage (and leverage) to size. Thats why large corporations always want to be #1 or #2 in their industry or they exit altogether.
Thanks for your thoughts Lewis.
Each of those concepts you mentioned were new discoveries (not inventions). IOW's new to man but not new to Earth's physics and capabilities under our sun since day one. But 'nothing new under the sun' refers to…
Important to remember the intent of why legislation forcing debt limits was created in the first place. Eventually the make up of actors involved will force change. Government does not have a mindset of cost control like other entities within the U…
With our debt approaching $250,000 for every US taxpayer...one day we will wake up and everything about gold will change. Taleb writes about retrospective distortion.
The sole decision making is the responsibility of the new portfolio manager(s). The research staff of several hundred (last I checked) provides data. So I personally believe there is more risk in the mgr change than the average Wellington investor …
I just hope VWINX has not quietly changed to more growth like VWELX did some time ago (using same research employee base). Maybe VWELX change was deliberately announced?? Don't remember.
This fund is increasing attractive to my personal risk tolerance. Been on watch list for 6 months. Conclusions from this thread: Available Schwab $49.95 for $2500 min. Available Firstrade also. Any more places to buy GQPHX or GQHIX for a reasona…

When I set my slider at 3/15/2021, the far left hand date is 11/29/2019.

Yogi, thank you. I am looking for 52 week forward S&P 500 earnings estimates (many times noted as 'Forward' in publications), not the earnings multiple 25.02. So the number I am expecting is somewhere around $233.04 (I think) but I would like …
Thank you Mark. I am wondering if there is a table updated weekly with these stats? It used to be towards the front of the mag. I might need to stop by the library and look at one.
Anyone know of a free site that provides Benchmark, M* Category and M* Index on one page view? M* Style box would be a bonus. Port Viz gives 2 of the 3 on one page but not all 3 or 4.
