@expatsp - if I had clue I'd send him and Murata my resume. They just keep hitting it out of the park month after month, year after year and I'll just hang on for the ride until it stops. Where else can you find a 9-10% yield with seemingly no mater…
Rockstars: PCI & PDI
Holding above water: FCNTX, POAGX and PRGTX but that may have more to do with tech's run-up so far this year
Puzzling surprise: GLFOX. Down the most YTD at a time when I thought infrastructure might finally find some footing.
I think you might be right here mister. I too sold a couple of positions and will hold the rest of my hand. Time now to go start some tomato and pepper seeds.
Hey Larry. The quarterly dividend on this fund is, how shall we say, flexible. While disappointing I wouldn't let one quarters decline send my blood pressure into overdrive. It's possible that the funds sponsor sold off some high yield (risky) asset…
Fund Summary
The investment seeks to produce long-term capital appreciation. The fund's principal investment strategy is designed to provide exposure to the aggregate value of ordinary dividends expected to be paid on a portfolio of large capitaliza…
You will get the best information on these funds directly at the fund sponsor's website.
You can get general info from a site such as cefa.com or M*

Lastly I suggest this M* discussion forum …
Heres one idea moving forward in your back yard if I remember correctly:

@Sven, depending on your need to access that cash you could build a CD ladder at Fidelity ( and I'm sure other places) that will get you closer or above 2% returns. A couple of examples can be found here:

But not from Fidelity. Interesting.
If one wanted to purchase the featured fund FNIAX from TDA they would be charged the load and a higher ER. What a mess.
However they trail Danoff's starship fund FCNTX which is up 8.4% YTD, has a lower ER and does not require an advisor to escape paying the front-end load. But to each their own.
@davidrmoran - do you mean designed for hunting? If so they were/are indeed marketed that way but are a horrible choice unless your only intent is to kill. I've never seen a legitimate game hunter with one yet.
And back in the time of our nations founding folks probably needed a rifle to put food on the table. Historical portrayals show that those rifles fired one shot at a time with a somewhat lengthy pause and process to reload the next shot.

I'm holding, but to be fair it's only about 1% of my portfolio. The funds return in relation to risk is all that one could ask for currently. Utilities and telecom are still getting beat up based on interest rate risk but that seems to be everywher…
Skeet, as I have noted many times on this board almost all of my investment portfolio is geared toward income be it interest or dividend payments but primarily the latter. I find it interesting that you used the last six years in your investment cla…
Cool chart Maurice. Thanks.
It's my millennia's and Gen-Xer's that are drawn to the organic products here. I'm glad that they care enough to care about what goes into their bodies. My whole family buys fresh as much as possible but I personally won…
Given the returns over the last 10 years by the S&P 500 index and the World Small/Mid Stock index why would you even bother. But hey, it's not my money.
I agree with your comments Hank and could have written the same only not as well. One thing that struck me was an NRA info source who stated that the AR15 was developed specifically for hunting. Must have meant people hunting as I've never seen an a…
I agree with your assessment msf. I was curious about your statement that one could pick up FINSX at Vanguard (with a TF) so I attempted to do the same with a trial buy at Fidelity. Not happening as far as they're concerned with or without a TF. See…
I agree MJG, and I also have to wonder how much of those record inflows had to do with year end bonuses, tax repatriation bonuses and beginning of the year IRA contributions along with the 'fear of missing out' contributions. Likewise withdrawals mi…
FWIW I use UTG as my utility holding for the income mainly but also because I have trouble deciding which individual stock(s) to hold. The recent rights offering played havoc with the NAV and share price but I expect an eventual rebound to their nor…
