This again? Pretty soon it’ll be the pledge, then kneeling for the anthem, then there’ll be a mass shooting and around and around we go.
@david - you thought I was kidding didn't you.
I use my cellphone to take a lot of pictures but I always reach for my Nikon SLR when I want the picture just right, especially closeups. I also would still be shooting with film if I thought my pictures were pro worthy.
My guesses are that seasoned/frequent visitors have not adjusted their fund count much if at all and that new visitors might be interested in the topic. I haven't a clue as to when the topic was last posted/discussed.
@BenWP - the prospectus link for the new AC fund was posted by The Shadow.
The way I read their investing strategies seems to indicate that they can use hedging when they deem it appropriate. That really isn't much different than many other funds.
…
No clue. I don't have a premium membership or a back door so I can see what you're seeing. All I can say is that I have been pleased with my investment in the fund.
Please not Bernie. He's nothing but a pretend democrat at best and too far in the weeds on many of his platform positions which I believe will have too many voters changing the channel. While I would love to see Harris I'd settle for Warren.
Edmond, Well, just to be clear I asked you for none of that. I didn't ask what you own or don't own, I didn't ask you to do my research, I didn't ask you for any advice. I asked for your evidence supporting your statement that all (most) preferred e…
Oh, my apologies. See I tried that along with other methods and found no evidence supporting your statement. I just thought that you might have some inside info or special knowledge no one else could substantiate.
@Edmond - you said "All (most) preferred's held in those vehicles are similarly trading at steep premiums to their call prices."
Please provide evidence for your statement.
Yes, one of the nasty elements of investing in individual securities is that sometimes you get it wrong. On the other hand, you could have it all right and the market would beg to differ. There's no easy, always true answer.
Ditto with analyst opin…
I agree with @rforno on both financial preferred and quantumonline.com. I also prefer to hold individual preferreds although I also hold a CEF preferred fund.
Fidelity Convertible Securities FCVSX Is the only one I'm vaguely familiar with but I haven't invested in it for years. Vanguard had a similar offering but liquidated it earlier this year.
And just now I found this list from US News.

Just enough so that my last check bounces.
Kidding aside it will all depend and vary based on the lifestyle you expect to live. A good starting point would be to figure out what your monthly/yearly expenditures are now and forecast those figures in…
It's my belief that active funds are for active investors who want to or are willing to switch to better performing funds as the needs arise or are called for. Yes the hot performing active fund may eventually revert back to the mean which is why on…
Those farm aid packages are worth less than a placebo for cancer treatment unless you're a mega-farm operator.
The Toll of the Trade War (at least so far)
Well ron a high yield corporate bond fund would not be my first choice but that doesn't mean it can't be yours. SCHD, SPHD and VNQ appeal to me but at todays richly valued prices I'd be more inclined to build a position slowly rather than investing …
The fund is of the Tax-Managed, Buy-Write Option type.
From their M* profile: "The Fund intends to sell index options that qualify for treatment as section 1256 contracts on which capital gains and losses are generally treated as 60% long-term and …
And just think, all these improvements were done to generate a better user experience. What a country. As msf and rforno have noted M* no longer seems concerned with the retail user/customer/client.
