Ms. Schwartzer strikes me the same way expatsp. Also if I only could have but one pick in the fossil fuels sector it would be EPD. Strong, consistent management without any of the drama.
While you might be able to reasonably track the Buy/Sell & why performance of mutual funds I don't know that you could do the same for ETF's, CEF's or individual equities unless the poster offered up their personal buy & sell points.
@FD1000 - who said "All I did is presented Tom Bowley view."
If you are doing that then you should enclose his words in quotation marks so others know that they are his words and not yours.
"New administrations often pass a lot of spending bills that rev up the economy." He premised that on one party controlling both the white house and the senate. As much as I'd like to see a regime change in Washington I'm not betting on it yet. We'l…
@davfor - I'm curious, what made you chose Brookfield or was it just thrust on you with the merger? I'm a bit surprised that their geographic presence doesn't include Australia. I am using ICLN as my broad based fund. TAN would have been just as goo…
All I can say is that my investments in this area have done far better than I imagined and social trends are certainly pointed in this direction. I hope it lasts.
I agree with all that @Old_Joe and @hank especially considering that early on in the primary process after Biden won the nomination to run didn't he say that he was looking for a running mate who could step right in should he become unable to perfor…
Um @Gary - Ms. Page didn't select the questions. They were given to her at the start of the debate(?). And an affirmative NO on letting them go long. I don't know squat about debating procedures and protocol but isn't the point to see how good one i…
NEE. Fossil fuels are not dead but I don't expect them to provide much in the way of growth in either the near or long term. Alternative energy and the environment are laying heavy on many peoples minds and they will also gain a lot of traction if a…
Well @hank, about a week ago I believe @Sven or @davfor posted an interview with Mr Giroux wherein he mentioned Utilities as a sector of interest. I bought FUTY after reading that and am up 5%+ since that time. Might be an area to explore.
That's rich @Gary1952. Biden is to blame for the tax code inequities. What he is asking for is the rich to pay their fair share. Are you trying to tell us that they do? Are you trying to say that only the democrats are responsible for the tax code?

Not fantasyland huh? Consider these points:
1. 76 percent of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck
2. 62 percent of Americans have less than 1,000 dollars in their savings account
3. 65 percent of those 65 and older have less than $25,000 in r…
That alleged TR advantage is premised on the basis of never touching your balance and allowing it to just grow and grow and grow. Tell me, who does that? Who just lets it sit there forever and ever? This constant battle between dividend growth/incom…
@FD1000 - How do you know that everyone else isn't investing for TR as well using their dividends as just one piece of the equation? What if they aren't comfortable or knowledgeable enough to be trading in and out of positions? Or simply don't have …
@BenWP - First I bought/buy nearly all my CEF positions at large discounts to NAV usually after major market swoons. I don't tend to trade them and I'm primarily interested in the distributions they throw off. I hold only one healthcare equity posit…
@WABAC - no I don't have any hard data to back up my opinion. What information I have is mostly anecdotal relative to those who are down searching to make the big score either through day trading or the lottery.
With nearly 200K deaths in the US alone I highly doubt that Covid-19 will ever be forgotten. What I hope the experience does is bring to the forefront an emphasis on trusting the scientific community to do all that they have trained, worked for and …
