@Baseball_Fan -
You said "We as humans are not generally wired to hold thru large downdrafts...I saw many corporate types happlily retire in 06' then come crawling back begging for their old jobs in 09'...they weren't real happy, nor real motivated…
I don't know, define too often. I treat my portfolio like a garden. Neither probably needs my fiddling on a daily basis but I enjoy looking just the same, just in case. YMMV.
From the Dodge and Cox website: "Class X shares are now available to eligible defined contribution plans. The current shares held by shareholders will be renamed Class I shares, which are open to all investors."

@OJ - how does the wife take to your ranting at the dinner table?
Too bad about BART. When I used it 1986-97 I thought that it was a pretty slick way to get around. The trains were always clean and on time. Hate when these things happen.
I can't spell it but I can smell it. I'm sitting here trying to imagine what might have happened had I ever tried telling any of my customers or clients that their bill for services was actually 2-3-4-5 X what we contracted for. Yeah right.
Typically a 'margin' purchase occurs when you don't have enough available ready cash in your brokerage account to make the purchase. Did you?
Buying on Margin
Back in the 70's and 80's I doubt that anyone tuned into a Dallas football game to watch the actual game when all the action was on the sidelines. Maybe it still is.
Sometimes it pays to be lucky. I've been picking up shares of Store Capital (STOR) by bits and pieces even after Berkshire disposed of their large stake a few weeks ago. Today STOR popped up 20%+ on a buyout offer from a private equity firm. I'll ta…
Please let us all know how that hard loading worked for anyone who risked it. The following is from Fidelitys quote page:
"FNGU's Prospectus stated objectives:
The investment seeks return linked to a three times leveraged participation in the daily…
I'm looking at this chart very simplistically (i.e. just the technicals) and I have have done zero point diddly fundamental analysis of the stock or company. The price seems to sit right where it was in June 2020. It nearly doubled from there by Aug…
Can we assume that you've talked to the fund sponsor or gone to the Janus Henderson website and looked through the information presented there?

Does anyone think that Garland wouldn't have risked this search or raid if he wasn't 1K% positive of the results? I'm also curious to know why Trump didn't object to releasing the search warrant contents.
Yes @OJ, I've failed to understand that. I also don't understand why the press and Dems don't pound on them for solid, concrete evidence of a stolen election or job growth, or raising taxes on business companies that pay none and on and on and on. I…
Yes, much appreciated Lewis. And this precisely: (text bolding is mine)
"Perhaps it’s time to dub Republicans the Do Nothing Party. Just as the Know Nothing Party that arose prior to the Civil War was anti-immigrant, so today’s GOP is anti–climate …
@hank - who said "Some would bail after a quick 15% loss - a sure way to the poor house." Right or wrong I bail on new positions if they hit an 7-8% loss. It's benefitted my bottom line a bunch. It tells me that I took those positions too early, tha…
Hi catch,
This may or may not be of help but I have traded in and out of both ICLN and TAN over the past two years depending on the appeal of of 'clean energy' within the energy sector. I currently hold 3 individual equities in the solar realm and …
@Mav123 - I have not tried other tax software simply out of concerns (however irrational) over importing one software programs data/records into another. It's already annoying enough having to deal with tax return filings.
Actually, the K-1 inform…
@Mav123 - I hold a 3% position in EPD in my Roth account. Opinions seem to be divided on whether that's a good idea or not but I haven't had any issues yet. I've held it for 10-12 years despite that contrary opinion. It does issue a K-1 which TurboT…
@OJ - I suppose that's one way of looking at it. I see it as Manchin and the backers of the pipeline lining the pockets of their pants while all the people and the environment affected by the pipeline take it in the shorts.
