"I am surprised SPDR is able to direct flows into the higher ER SPY while they have >75% cheaper SPLG."
Just a guess but that may be due to the fact that many investors of all sizes find or perceive SPY to be more liquid or tradeable.
I'm trying to come up with a candidate to take on that Boeing task with all of the pending lawsuits, investigations and what not goings on. It'll be interesting to see who they pull out of the hat.
I used yesterday's downdraft to add to SPLG, CALF, JEPQ, OMFL & CGDV. I probably should have followed @hank and invested in a bottle of something in case the much anticipated correction occurs in the next week or so.
Lots of talk here about the mens tournament but you might have missed a doozie with Caitlin Clarks efforts in taking down last year's champion LSU in the woman's tournament. She has been quite a story this past year.
DJT -"Digital World Acquisition Corp. does not have significant operations. The company focuses on effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization, or related business combination with one or more busine…
@rforno - since you're more educated about these matters what would you advise other AT&T customers who have not been contacted by the company regarding the data breach to do with respect toward their accounts? I ask because my son's family has …
You don't own your purchase history or banking records -- the respective companies do. They in turn can sell/offer it to whomever they want, and in some cases, 'the market' thinks it's good to contribute such information to the credit agencies to …
Just wondering, when or where or how I ever gave these 3 entities + two I never heard of (thanks @rforno) the right to comb through any of my files or data batches to produce their rating/scores. Yes I know that it's all required to open accounts bl…
My daughter and her family will be tripping down to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take it in. She has a friend who lives there. Here's a NY Times article for other sites and activities.
It's never been about fervor for a piece of hardware. It's always been about reliability, ease of use and functionality. Apple products usually seem to work like I think they should work. From the beginning I've had no idea what Windows was thinking…
@rforno & @Old_Joe - Your issues with iCloud seem to emanate from more robust needs than iCloud can currently manage satisfactorily. How might these issues affect the casual users who most likely use the system just to store masses of photos/ima…
From a WSJ email today (3/21/2024) - "On this day in 1924, the Massachusetts Investors Trust, the first open-end mutual fund, was founded in Boston by a former cookware salesman and two investment bankers. The minimum initial purchase of five shares…
“Gonzaga tomorrow plays McNeese State, which, not only do I not believe Gonzaga is a real place, I don’t think there’s any such place as McNeese State, either. I know for a fact there are 50 states, and McNeese is not one of them, OK? This is a game…
something, something, ....don't let politics interfere with your investment decisions.... something, something....
As a side note I'm astounded to discover that I had something in common with the state of Texas, that being an investment in BIAWX.
"After getting involved with NYCB rescue, Mnuchin is eying TikTok."
Well now there's a conundrum. Do you want China to have your data or the Maga party?
Even if I was interested in EM at this time I'm fairly certain that I would not hold a position large enough to affect my bottom line. I don't have any inclination to hold segments of this or that for the purpose of feeling diversified.
@YBB - did you mean 'posters' or 'investors'? Or both? Many people I talk to can't tell me the difference between crypto and bitcoin and a dark hole well at the same time most of those wonder if they need to get some or whether they should have some…
Shuffled the deck today and added small bits to CGDV, JQUA and QLTY. All had 1%+ losses which I couldn't figure out other than market nonsense. I suppose I should just wait for a larger correction but I've no clue when that will happen.
Swapped so…
@golub1 - you said "Both Vanguard, Fidelity and T Rowe have great balanced funds that are lower priced."
Are you referring to 'mutual' funds or ETF's which is what the OP asked about?
@JD_co - although it's only been a recent phenomena don't you think that the upward trend in RSP might be signaling a broadening in the market? Or too early to tell yet?
My own investing sensibilities are plagued by the same nagging doubts and I too find myself fading advice from GS. My finger is not hovering over the 'sell' button just yet but it has taken a position in the neighborhood.
