Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
@hank - I agree with you that there's 'reasonable' value out there but many folks currently do not want any of those. In my mind most of them are thinking "gotta get me some of those zoomers!" That's where the big money lies and that'll make my perf…
Your comments on Fidelity are true. I can't compare them to Schwab but I might have to open an account there to get access to the research capabilities over there.
Thanks for your review.
p.s. 'Active Trader Pro' truly does suck! Massively! Espec…
Just a minor data point but I've been following YTD returns for these and so far they have been GQETX (+10.37%), SPY (+10.95%) and QLTY (+11.23%). All returns come from M*. It'll be interesting to see how these data unfold over a longer period.
@MikeW - thanks for posting this. I went looking for the article this morning but I had already deleted the email it came in and couldn't retrieve it.
Anyway, I have been thinking about buying some NVDA to leave to my kids not only because it's a …
The Yellow Pages
And just to add I don't trust Yelp or Angi (formerly Angie's List) not even a little bit. Too easy to dismiss/discard/delete negative reviews and/or generate positive comments where no work of any sort was ever performed. Could jus…
You all should have realized by now that BF rarely if ever responds to a critique or criticism of the ridiculous nonsense he spews. He's quite prone to just tossing whatever crap comes into his head much like his cheeto mentor and will not engage in…
@FD1000 - The reference to UTG is that it is a utilities fund and the manager of PRWCX had recently mentioned that he was favorably inclined to utilities and adding to them in his portfolio. It was in no way, shape or form a comparison of the two fu…
@Old_Joe - at my age of 75 it seems that the Israeli's & Palestinian's have been fighting since near the beginning of recorded time over what? Religion? Some gods they worship but that seems like the backstop to nearly all wars. But anyway no ma…
I got into a pair of similar-like CEF's (BSTZ and BMEZ) offered by the Blackrock group back at their inception. They worked good until they didn't. Whether it was just the initial hype at launch (causing the market price to rise) or poor PE choices …
@BaluBalu - I think one has to jump through some hoops to get that 3% cash back. With the offers I've seen for it the 3% only applies on purchases of Apple products from the Apple Store and certain select merchants (e.g. gas from Exxon & Mobil b…
@Crash - if you look at the table I linked you'll find the NAV in the next column right of the market price. Do note that it lags by a few months but you might find a current NAV at the company's web site.
@BaluBalu - as @davfor noted all BDC's see…
looks like PV took a perfectly simple decent to use tool and "improved" it!!
I believe that the correct terminology these days is that they 'enhanced the user experience'.
Ha! Also highly unlikely. IMHO those events stopped being a debate "Debate is a process that involves formal discourse, discussion, and oral addresses on a particular topic or collection of topics, often with a moderator and an audience. In a debate…
"People under 30 and those who live in low-income neighborhoods were particularly likely to be maxed out, according to the report. Among Generation Z borrowers, about 1 in 6 was close to exhausting their credit,..."

@Old_Joe - not a good look on USAA who state their military friendliness as a come on.
"Military-friendly
We understand military life is unique. That’s why we offer products and services with the unique needs of the military community in mind."

Crazy as all get out! As long as they think they are owning the dems or libs or snowflakes or whatever the other party is being called these days nothing else matters. Period. End of discussion. His supporters cannot look out far enough to realize t…
While it was never even a fleeting consideration (I'm a wild outdoors guy) I can now confirm that I won't be moving there anytime soon. Couldn't come close to competing. I do enjoy visiting however.
If I had Warren's expertise, portfolio and a position that was 50% of my portfolio I would do the same. I am so, so far away from that scenario I can only dream.
@sma3 - I do not use YOC. I believe it to be a false metric. It's not the yield on the current valuation. However if you'd like to know what it is, it's 9.6% to go along with 59% CG's.
Edit to add: I should probably mention that the stocks I mentio…
@bee - That's a fair question and one that I honestly can't answer with any degree of certainty. I can relate how it pertains to me but that's about it.
1) Most of my DG portfolio holdings were bought at depressed valuations (on sale if you wish). …
In your account description titles above do the terms 'rollover' and 'conversion' depict some special conditions pertaining to the accounts or are they just a reminder as to where or how the accounts were funded? I ask because way back in the early …
@YBB - who said "Think of Barron's article mentions of funds and/or stock as "for instance", but not comprehensive or the best or leading."
Good point! As @hank noted it's a very common occurrence in Barron's articles. Maybe I need to pay more for …
