Making tactical asset allocation tilts is not market timing.
Why are you not buying broker CD/Treasury? Fidelity treasuries pays 4.8% for 6 months (https://fixedincome.fidelity.com/ftgw/fi/FILanding) and you don't pay state tax.
Can I trade back and forth with CD/Treasury? it's inconvenienced.
Can I buy sev…
So how is the NAV increasing if the Fund has just recently made 6 investments that surely would not be marked up at this point given they are private. Sure, there is cash that is earning some interest, but there are also fees that are likely more th…
Few questions...
1) How much capital have they raised for the Fund?
2) How much do they plan to raise for the Fund?
3) When do they expect to close the Fund for new investment?
Bluerock TI+ Real Estate is an illiquid multi-manager interval-fund related to private real estate. Asset valuations are from appraisals. You can buy interval-funds anytime from brokers/advisors, but there are only quarterly redemption windows for s…
Personal Capital is a good (free) choice, which I use for periodic snapshots of my portfolios.
These guys require a phone number. Wondering if they’ll sell it to advertisers or use it to pester you?
They'll pester you nonstop, especially if you ha…
How exactly do these individuals expect to pay for the necessities of life? Surely, some have saved up and may not need to work, but so many studies show how the vast majority of people don't save enough... Do they just expect Uncle Sam to bail them…
By that logic, it seems like this fund will be run by the younger junior members of the analytical team, which seem to have more of a geographic rather than industry focus: Juliette Douglas, Ben Gardiner, Spencer Hackett, Phil Naylor and Connor Whip…
I like their idea of limiting screen time for kids. Sad that parent's need parents these days.
I don't necessarily disagree, but this is not a sovereign entity's job.
But FIDO hopes you've at least thought about an exit strategy. I consider this thoughtful of them.
One may imagine the message you would have received from a RobinHood account.
"Don't you want to buy some more?" "You call yourself an investor?" …
Therein lie the issue... You actually believe SS and MC are efficiently run. Please explain to me how these programs are sustainable.
I'm 32, and when I think about planning for retirement even my bull case does not include an assumption of SS. Why…
Does anyone actually have confidence that the gov’t can meet such liabilities long-term? Gov’t has proven time and time again that it is an imprudent and poor asset allocator. Not only is that itself a problem but that behavior permeates to individu…
Personally, I'm not a fan of EM Funds that by U.S. stocks... I get the end-market argument, but it's off-benchmark exposure and the manager will use that to explain away underperformance when it occurs (i.e. broader U.S. stock market weakness the ro…
How in the world can anyone short anything in this market with central banks expanding their balance sheets, plethora of meme stocks and a market full of new investors who think of the markets like they're betting on this week's football game?
I'd …
Financial literacy... The world's most serious issue.
Not even close. See how folks in Portland are handling 115 degree weather today. Now Imagine ten or twenty degrees hotter in places that have no electricity. Imagine living for generations by a…
The average employee has trouble often understanding how a 401k works in many cases let alone cryptocurrency. I find the "personal responsibility" argument to be a hackneyed one I often hear emerging from libertarians. One response I have to that--a…
Seems really dangerous and a path towards potential employee lawsuits against 401k plan sponsors and administrators.
If it's just an option, I don't get how you can file a lawsuit. Complete BS if you ask me. Just make it clear that it is a high risk…
She’s still doing the same thing. She is just less encumbered (Matthews had strict risk measures). As of now, my understanding is that there will be no mutual fund vehicle launched so no retail access to this mandate,
It’s not a bad idea at all. Yes, crypto is volatile, but the participants make the elections for their 401(k)s so if they are willing to take the risk then so be it.
I actually have a bigger issue with pensions investing in the space as they’re inv…
This fund is investing in 15% private equity per the Citywire article above. Don’t know if the two Matthews funds she managed in the past allow that.
They did not. Part of the reason she left.
The complexity only comes into play if you hold through the de-SPACing. IMHO that is not a strategy retail investors should employ, frankly because they do not have the knowledge to do the proper underwriting.
The biggest takeaway I have from the data is how is Obama not at the top of all of these charts given he had the most favorable set up (starting off low lows)...
