davidrmoran : No need to send billing, it's the amount that caught my attention!
@hank " Hell - I now believe this type of predatory practice should be outlawed." I agree 100%. Unfortunately this baiting was going on before DK started doing it.
I don't know if I would sleep well with 10>% in a fund. At one time that may have occurred. Only T bills & notes in that 10% or higher range as of late.
Happy New Year to All, Derf
P.S. @hank
How did you mak…
Not a math wizard , so if you invested $1K at beginning of 2022 & lost 67% & then your investment gain 73.7% the next year, you're still trying to dig yourself out of a hole !!
$1k investment is worth$573.21

It seems to me more retirees commenting here than non-retirees. Maybe I'm off base ?
CD's at 3% would be my cut off point. Well , guess I'll have to wait & see…
@hank : Can you tell me how his 3000 contracts work ? From when he bought, rates were moving up, but now on the down slide. Does Mr. Gross collect every 3 months as long as the rate he bought at stays lower than current rate ?

A few years back & I was happy to get 3% on a two year CD. I see 3 year notes are on the firing line & will put forth a few $$'s that way.
Have a good weekend, Derf
@Crash : No judgement, just a comment. From prior posts , You're looking for a hand off to your wife due to age difference. For that reason I see nothing bad in holding 10 to 15 % in SC, SV, or a blend of the two.

@Baseball_Fan : Would you let me know how your quote from Erie pans out ? I would consider you a non typical customer as for the number of homes & autos.
Erie is more for families with the children out of the house from what I understand.

@stillers : Did this get posted in the wrong spot ?
@yogibearbull: Sorry if a bit off-topic. We're looking for an SP, equal-weighted index OEF. So far researching VADAX. Are there other OEFs like it to consider?

@hank : Thanks for the run down & link. I had no idea about all the generations ! I do recall one trouble shooter asking how old the fire stick was. Think I'll enter fire stick at Wiki & see what pops up.

Long story short !! No need for hot spot. Tech from Spectrum came on Monday. Nothing wrong with modem or router, a bad connection in wiring.
In case you were wondering, Derf
@Sven : I checked back on that thread & it was going okay until the last 2 or 3 comments. I'll also take a peek at the 3 hot funds. Probably just fade away , me, not the funds.
@hank : (What to consider now) That was the headline from Schwab, not a question from me. As far as Bloomberg goes I've been catching some of it's commentary lately. I don't have it at home , but it appears where we're staying at till the middle of …
@Puddnhead : Just wondering if you sold on Monday ? Looking to take RMD as a CD matured & have the cash to get it done.
How is your best friend doing ?

The why (Y) question. I had plenty when I started my Plumbing apprenticeship many years ago. As for starting to shave in the same spot, I don't fit the question.
Why, Derf
@Investor Your last sentence, " In investing, perfection is the enemy of good enough returns. " What would you consider, good enough return, 5% , 10% & in what time space ? I'm sure age of investor would have something to be considered.

I'll take last weeks returns anytime !! I happen to look at Vanguards monthly statement & much to my surprise I found three funds I hold in taxable account to still be lacking a few $$$ from where they were at the beginning of Oct. !

+1 @davidrmoran "trying to hit singles as I get older, have puhlenty of losses prior from not doing that, many of which I still hold"Same with the loses here !!
@davidrmoran : Did you sell them already ? If so then you did make a few K otherwise just a paper gain for the time being. Here today gone tomorrow, as the old saying goes.
