#1. A President so I can get favorable legislation passed and enacted quickly.
I know, Congress passed legislation. A friend in the White House does wonders for one's portfolio. Ask Warren.
BTW Warren, have you paid all those back taxes to the …
A lot of employees with 401k etc plans are looking at their gains and comparing to the indexes. Most are woefully underinvested in stocks so they are making changes. Chasing returns might be more accurate.
I have mentioned this before but it fits in with the current conversation.
In my growing up years, (50's and 60's), very few kids had braces or any kind of that treatment. Crooked teeth became a disease that had to be treated. Now pretty much eve…
@STB65,
Thanks for a thought provoking and enlightening post. This healthcare issue has been racking my brains ever since the HillaryCare debacle. Which way is the best?
I am not a physician but worked in hospital pharmacy for over 35 years. As pa…
Celebrities are always targets in one way or another. In most of the cases involving iCloud, it was the use of weak passwords that helped the perps to gain access. Apple since then has started to promote a two step access procedure.
If one is not …
I have a good problem. My investment in AAPL is up over 25% and it has grown to 9% of my portfolio. I might sweep profits in order to get it down to a more reasonable percentage. This is in a tax deferred account.
The Matthews website does show distribution history for 2013 and foreign tax credits going back several years. A 4Q distribution was paid out last year.
I guess the best thing is to give them a call.
Do you have to pay to be able to post in their forums? I think they are free. You could post a question there. Fortunately, I don't use M* and never have in almost 30 years of fund investing.
"As much as 1-2 hours earlier" ???
That is pretty bad considering you can get current quotes shortly after the close. I would not be bragging about that kind of update.
The first thing the linked newsletter needs to do is some research and also work on their grammar. The headline is totally wrong.
The Frank Russell company does not have their roots in Seattle. They moved there very recently from Tacoma where they…
@Lawlar, yep I think the Nikon is a winner there. The iPhone camera is more for convenience though they are getting better all the time and the photo editing is handy.
@scott, I see that as well. I'm sure they are working on it or the app is already out but I'm not aware.
Another great benefit would be an app that takes your Apple Pay transactions and creates a spending budget complete with categories. It woul…
Apple pre-installs their app Passbook on their devices that is supposed to be the place where loyalty cards, coupons, frequent flyer miles etc are stored. It seems to have a slow start. The idea is great. I think Apple Pay will be the system that ge…

Wearable bands are really taking off and there is a huge market for a more upscale version compared to the Fit band for example. The Apple watch is in that market group. This Christmas and the next will be huge for these new gadgets.
Recently, experts like Wilbur Ross, Carl Icahn and others have been predicting this correction or a crash. Corrections are normal and healthy. Chances are if one sold they would be whipsawed price wise. I'm staying pat for now.
I wonder if ex-pats who prefer out of country healthcare, but file taxes with the IRS will have to pay the new "No Health Coverage" Tax penalty? This tax looks to be about 2% of income for 2015.
The last I heard was that if someone was residing over…
"New information: the deductible, for 2015; will move from the current $12,700 to $13,200, "to comply with federal law", as noted in the documentation from the plan provider. "
Yep, the govt is dictating every angle it appears.
@scott, you hit on the "experience" or the ecosystem as I called it and was thinking, if Apple and Android have achieved critical mass in this sector then they would be assured that x number of customers will participate in every upgrade cycle. Tha…

Just by chance, I passed by a authorized Apple Store here in the Philippines this afternoon. We are in a large city to the south. The store was full. This is in a busy mall set…
One of the top ten alts is a long short healthcare fund. HHCAX. That must be an interesting one. I wonder what they shorted in this healthcare rally we have had?
Is the $12,700 figure health and dental combined or just health? I'm just thinking of parents whose kids need orthodontics.
Of course , perhaps due to cost, very few kids had orthodontics during my childhood years. Now it seems to be standard far…
