The last week has been good preparation for playoff pressures....nicely done Tito.
For many years, I've owned PONDX as well as TGINX. The latter is the fund/firm where Luz Padilla established her track record before migrating to Double Line. TGINX throws off a nice divi, and provides a nice return albeit a bit lumpy which appears …
Can't answer the question Ted without a personal attack? Be aware...I don't mind at all the normal and customary political back and forth. But I don't care for the private harassment and personal admonishments. We can be civil...or at least I hope w…
Moderators....he continues the harassment. Is there a way to block a user from sending messages? Unfortunately some people like to only share their perverse views away from the public eye.
275LB_NY_MCPO just sent me this message:
"There is more collusion between you and your liberal crybaby brethren on this website than between Russia and the current administration! Get a life and a new ideology that can win an election! Stick to inv…
Trump's request to back off of the investigation into Flynn is not new information. That is what has been reported for a few weeks now.
Sorry...your jubilation is premature. The inquiry continues.
Also, just curious. Your comments as a lead-in to …
I've been looking at the banks, and now officially pondering given their collective pull back.
In lieu of the normal and customary suspects, I've been looking at PBCT. It's a mid-level regional bank with what appears to be a good foundation, a 4%+ …
I used to watch Bulls And BEars and treated it as an investment show.As I recall Sometime after 2000 It became a how terrible are the democrats economically show and limited investment advice to stock tips in the last two minutes/ I don;t remember S…
Well, that's not precisely what I inferred.
My comment to JoeD was that the performance of VWINX may be influenced more by the performance of equities as opposed to rising interest rates, which appeared to be his greater concern.
Regarding JoeD's inquiry on the question of VWINX during a rising rate environment, M* notes the following:
"Between June 2004 and May 2007, the Fed raised rates by 25 basis points on 17 separate occasions, hiking the overnight lending rate to 5.25…
Ben...I do believe an out sized Asia stake would be worthwhile simply due to the potential consumer growth in the area.
My holdings are similar to yours, with GPMCX, ARTGX, GPGOX, SFGIX and FMIJX. I do have an Asian pure play, which happens to be …
And if the CBO scores the dollars in a particular way, this will be passed on a purely majority vote via reconciliation...with no hearings, no witnesses, no discussion.
As Atrios (a blog) succinctly points out, "23 million people will be freed from the tyranny of health insurance, many more will have insurance that doesn't cover anything, and people with pre-existing conditions will be shit out of luck."
But hey..…
I tend to pay attention to the theory of the Dow Transports being a leading indicator as to the strength of the economy. As it turns out, this warning sign has been flashing for 2 years.
David...while the calculator in your post was first discussed in a thread started by Bee back in January, here:

You may want to consider subscribing...it's well worth it in my opinion. Much more actionable data on the market than what you might see at M*, and more readable than the WSJ.
I believe the article doesn't merely ascribe yesterday's loss to near term politics.
If you're waiting for a pullback, the question becomes what could be the catalyst for that to occur. The author indicates that the market rise was partly due to th…
The author seems to simply be reaching for a reason to not like the fund.
They say it's hard to compare the fund because "The nearly 70-year-old Franklin Income fund hasn’t had a clear benchmark for all those years because most of its investments …
VF...if Malware Bytes is often picking something up in a scan on your Windows machine, that would indicate that Microsoft Defender is missing it. A PC mag review indicates malware identification is a weak spot for the MS app.
Just as an FYI.
Good question Bee, considering recent events.
I am currently running Windows 10, but have it configured to more or less look like Windows 7 since I don't care for the tiling. As for other items:
-A good anti-virus program is a given, I use ESET

I have a toe-hold in VETAX which is a mid-cap blend fund....seems to be a pretty solid performer over an extended period. With $8 billion in AUM, it's gotten some attention and compares favorably with AKREX.
FYI....it's closing on June 30.
I've been a Schwab customer since Olde bit the dust in the late 90's...Olde being a remnant from my dad's influence.
I find Schwab to be very forward thinking in terms of their offerings and service. I have only one complaint...there are a few fund…
