Major Global and U.S. etf categories numbers,,,,,erratic markets, Jan. 29/30

Jan. 29, Thursday markets were very erratic (down). Some areas recovered a bit before the close. Jan. 30, Friday through 2pm finds more negatives in many areas. This post may help one discover if this is a short term profit taker or other going forward. The link will provide new data during open U.S. market periods going forward.

Major global and U.S. etf categories This list is set with %Chg column (daily), which will indicate near real time changes while the U.S. markets are open; being from most positive to most negative returns. The right side of this data provides 'technical' buy/sell indicators (opinion).

  • Thank you. I bookmark the link for a quick scan on the market movement.

Precious metals and mining companies are in double digit loss.
  • I continue to review the categories. Though the graphic is set for the active trading day results, I always review the other time frames. I'll give more attention to the 5 day changes now. There may not be a trend of consequence, but the numbers don't lie; as to where the monies flow, and there are a lot of categories to compare.
  • The stomach it is upset, yes?
  • The BITE is to the BIT; Bitcoin, crypto's that is.....among numerous other categories.

SO, where are the monies going??? Big money is always hungry, too. Where is it feeding now?

The one large area for global monies, that have acted 'normal/positive', are U.S. Treasury issues; often occurring during equity drawdowns.

A rotation of holdings or more of something else ???

I will continue watching FINVIZ, too; which reflected quite negative for Wednesday evening and the open market follow through through Thursday (today).

A tale of two stories. Any resemblance to another MFO poster is strictly on purpose.

    For the MFO "audience"-
    • Using my own fantastically accurate financial prediction formulation developed by my incredible STEM-quality brain I sold all of my silver position at the very high and took immense profits before the current market decline.
    For myself-
Well, I still own my silver position, and it's way down from the "high", but what the hell, it's only a 7k purchase now down to 8.5k, so I'll just have to see what happens next.
  • Tulips wilt but the bulbs don't die.
  • Hi @Old_Joe

Are you suggesting that I have missed 'supreme wisdom' at this board. Damn, I read everything. It must be that my age, is having its way with me.
I've discovered only a few mystics during my global journeys.
During my younger days in the U.S., Carnac the Magnificent by Johnny Carson was a go to person for me.

Hey there @catch22-Don't tell me that you've missed the performance of "FD" the Magnificent! Like magic!

    Others call him "Captain Hindsight".
  • I'm aware of whom you write about. I'm aware, too; from my early days of participation at the M* investment boards (until they became uncivilized) of the person.
