--- Ken Burns has directed a new, six-part, 12-hour documentary series titled The American Revolution, which will show on PBS on November 16, 2025.
The series examines the founding of the United States from multiple perspectives, aiming to provide a complex and nuanced view of the period by including voices from different social classes, genders, and races, as well as well-known and unknown figures. New light on the past: It sheds light on often-overlooked aspects of the revolution, including the brutal violence and the experiences of those on the ground, such as women, children, and Native Americans.
Narrative style: The documentary uses a first-person perspective, narrated by actors like Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, to bring the history to life.

Streaming availability: In addition to airing on PBS, the full series is available for streaming on PBS.org and the free PBS app.
