Trump to leave G7 summit early for ‘important matters’. Well, Okay. Place your bets.....

A lot of important possibilities, eh? The 'cold shoulder' thing. He's going to ride in a B2 bomber. OR, well, a TACO moment.

  • Hi @Mark That's a possibility, but there are so many choices.

New item: U.S. President Donald Trump is leaving the G7 summit in Alberta early because he's needed back in Washington to address what's going on in the Middle East, Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said in a social media post late Monday.

Ummm..... He is able to have full communications for whatever from AF-1.

Stay tuned are the words now, I suppose. Tis the middle of night in Iran. The night time has not been a quiet time.

  • fully recyclable.

"trump leaves meeting unresolved to hurry to another such result. signature on blank page displayed as progress."
  • ...And who can say whether Trumpster encouraged himself to leave G-7 early, following the Carney step-in on the Orange rant about Russia and "Blue-run cities?"

  • Trump post on Truth Social at 9:19 AM.

"We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding.
He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!),
at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers.
Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

and.... "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER" He's such a blowhard. I sense a TACO coming.
  • I wonder how many of the G-7 participants rushed to open the door when he said he was leaving.
  • Utterly tactless. The child in any room. Bellicose, melodramatic. The Orange Drama Queen in a suit. And he was elected TWICE. Any wonder that our (former?) largest trading partner is currently developing alternative, reliable new trading partners??? That was Mark Carney's exact word.

Iran is now in a position to realize that Israel is adopting a gloves-off policy and they are in no position to do anything about it. I could see Iran deciding that Its best option is to forego any attempt to make a nuclear weapon. This is not because the U.S. has done anything, really. We asked Israel to stand down, they did not,. In fact, they attacked Iran in the midst of our negotiations. They may not have intended to kill Khomeini, but decided to allow it to appear that they were listening to Trump to help his ego.

I'd expect that Iran has also watched the zeal and thoroughness of the actions in Gaza, and decided that Israeli is not in the mood for half-measures. Israel may also have intentions to try to neutralize Fordow via measures other than U.S. assistance. And Iran may suspect that it is inevitable. A ground incursion. Such an incursion, special forces or full-on invasion, would require quite a bit more softening up of Irans ability to react.

We can expect that despite Trump asking Israel to wait, and them going ahead anyhow with bombing raid,. that trump will take full credit for the entire outcome. In reality, Iran clearly planned to force Iran into a no-win situation - either total destruction of their air defenses, military leadership, scientists and nuclear facilities or an ironclad, verifiable halt to their nuclear aspirations.
