Musk: "Spending bill is a disgusting abomination,” “Shame on those who voted for it".

edited June 3 in Off-Topic
Today, Tuesday. And related remarks from others at left side.

Okay, but too ironic, relative to the destruction he has caused to this point. Definitely, another one with maximum 'cranial/rectal inversion'.

  • Thank you for sharing. Perhaps this is the “drug-feee” Musk speaking the truth for once.

Elon Musk has no credibility after promising cutting trillions from the government budget, and yet he found less than several billions.
  • Will Muskie have to give the key back?
  • We may never see another orange colored Tesla roll off the line.

It is far from over. Micheal Cohen, former lawyer of Trump, mentioned that Trump may claw back the contracts Musk gained after the election. Like I said, his present behavior is strangely opposite to that when he worked closely with Trump. What does high dosages of Ketemine affect the patients ?
  • Or it is just a publicity ruse to fool people who are boycotting Musk products into liking Musk better for attacking Trump while capitalizing on the dislike of Musk among Trumpers for support of the big b bill.

YUP, just a show to them... put on a show and the followers believe. That's what I thought from the start, all make believe to try and get some customers back. He and Trump probably planned it all out. Oh, my business is cratering, now I hate Trump policies.... I call BS.

Agree. That is a diversion tactic. Musk is trying to change his public view and the Tesla name brand.
  • Haven't really followed but has Trump badmouthed Musk yet.... if not yes, it was all planned.

Observant1: Trump and Musk are abominations. Shame on those who voted for Trump!
  • Oh, he bad mouthed Musk and threatens to cut his contracts. I still say planned. If they get cut then maybe I'll start believing it's real.
  • "Trump: “The easiest way to save money is to TERMINATE Elon’s government subsidies and contracts.”
That’s the latest shot fired in the public meltdown between Donald Trump and Elon Musk — and it’s happening out in the open, post by post, platform by platform.
Trump’s accusing Musk of going “CRAZY.”
Musk is reposting Trump’s old tweets with sarcastic emojis like “100%” and “Where is this guy today?”
This isn’t just a spat. It’s a full-blown war between two of the GOP’s most powerful egos. And it’s getting personal."

    Showtime I think.

Well, if true, we all called it when this bromance started. Two narcissistic people aren't going to get along very long. They both crave the spotlight and when one doesn't get it they'll try and trash the other.
  • "Showtime I think."
    Cool !!!
  • OR.... the Trump family and Elon have their shorts on Tesla in place for the next week or so. Call me skeptical, It wouldn't surprise me at all (we'll never hear about it) but these grifters are gonna grift.

Right on! @gman57. One would think that two geniuses would have know that their love couldn't possibly last.
I do wonder who in the inner circle wanted him out and if Thiel will move into the empty side of the bed.
  • Musk: "Spending bill is a disgusting abomination,” “Shame on those who voted for it".

Musk should have said "Trump is a disgusting abomination,” “Shame on those who voted for him".

Hi @Old_Joe The two big kids are having quite the word war, eh? As they are both the 24 hours type; this will be interesting to follow.

Hey, you're in your normal, clear thinking high gear. You'd be able to have a side gig as part of a tv show writers group.
Hope all is well with you and yours in the 'city by the bay'.
  • Hi there Catch- yeah, this is really getting interesting. Here's a bit more from Musk: excerpts from a current report in the San Francisco Chronicle:
Elon Musk publicly signaled support for the impeachment of President Donald Trump on Thursday, deepening a dramatic split between the two men that sent Tesla’s stock tumbling 16% and stunned political and financial circles alike.

[Musk]... amplified a post on his platform calling for Trump’s removal and replacement by JD Vance.

It came hours after Musk made an explosive allegation— without offering evidence — that Trump’s name appears in secret records tied to Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier with connections to powerful figures worldwide.

“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk wrote, as he alleged the president had ties to the convicted sex offender — an accusation that has not been independently verified.

The White House moved quickly to counter the allegations: “Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars… and he just went CRAZY!”

Trump retaliated by threatening to eliminate billions in federal contracts and subsidies benefiting Musk’s companies, including Tesla, his internet company Starlink and rocket company SpaceX.

“Go ahead, make my day,” Musk quickly replied on X, where he warned that Trump’s economic policies could backfire.

“The Trump tariffs will cause a recession in the second half of this year,” he wrote on X.

Musk later announced SpaceX would begin decommissioning the Dragon spacecraft it used to carry astronauts and cargo to the International Space Station for NASA.

Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group, which trades under the ticker DJT, also fell 8% amid the feud.
  • And, just to add frosting to the cake, here's this from The Guardian:
Meanwhile, Steve Bannon, a longtime Trump ally and Elon Musk critic, suggested there were grounds to deport the tech billionaire, who has US citizenship. Bannon told the New York Times: “They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately.”
  • "The wheels came off their bromance so fast you'd think it were a cybertruck"

“That any of us have to care about the messy breakup of these two massive narcissists—
and that they both individually wield such massive power— is an indictment of our political system
and further proves the poisonous influence of Big Money on our democracy.”
