The latest scam from 'that' person's political friends/partners

There's not only Trump-crypto ETFs in the works but now a company is offering an 'official' Trump-branded crypto software wallet for trading crypto and NFTs. Apparently it's causing a ton of confusion because both his sons (involved in his other crypto schemes) very quickly disavowed knowledge of it. Watching grifters trying to out-grift each other is pure comedy gold!

Molly's excellent coverage: https://www.citationneeded.news/trump-crypto-wallet/

If you're trading crypto, best practices dictate that you must must must use a HARDWARE wallet that *you* control. Using a software wallet (like this) is akin to letting the owners of the bank have direct insider access to your savings account.

step 1. provide 6-7 figure donation to attend dinner and\or 'consultative' WH event.
step 2. attempt to get last word in on your scam, relative to dozens of other like-minded entrepreneurs
step 3. given odds of outsider becoming insider, prepare to write it all off as business expenses

From a subreddit: "Donald Trump Jr. revealed that the Trump family turned to cryptocurrency after being 'debanked' in New York City for political reasons. He described how their inability to access traditional financial systems led them to view the financial system as a 'pyramid scheme.' The family embraced crypto as a decentralized solution to avoid being excluded from financial services in the future. Trump Jr. emphasized that their move into crypto was driven by necessity rather than trend-following, highlighting its potential for democratizing finance and creating efficiencies."

In other words, since 'traditional' banks view the Trumps as less-than-lendworthy (and certainly not trustworthy debtors) they don't want to do business with them....which In turn has 'forced' the family criminal organization to turn to crypto for its funding needs while claiming they've become victimized by a 'pyramid scheme' that works well for pretty much everyone else in the world. And that much of crypto can be done anonymously, it's a perfect way to move (er, launder) money (or bribes!) from around the world without significant transparency.

    Womp womp womp....

  • I don't understand crypto at all. Usable only online, I understand? But I know a criminal tong when I see one.
  • I stay far away from something that I don't fully understand, and that is crypto.

  • trump is the bigliest injunctionee ever...what's a few more for crypto crimes when backed by scotus?

HAWLEY: Let's see the Trump chart. You don't think it's a little bit anomalous that Trump has so many more nationwide injunctions against him?
KATE SHAW: A very plausible explanation you have to consider is that he's engaged in much more lawless activity than other presidents.

  • My prediction is that crypto will be the cause of the next huge market crash, akin to the subprime loan crisis back in 08-09. I won’t invest in it, but I’m afraid it will take everything else down with it — particularly if Trump succeeds in “normalizing” it.
  • Didn't know that crypto was all that important to the financial system. Thought it was just a way for crooks to siphon funds in the shadows.
  • @Sven said: "I stay far away from something that I don't fully understand".

If we all did that we'd never get too close to our wives.   :)
  • The only crypto I would touch is Bitcoin and maybe Ether. IMO everything else is junk.

I have a few hundred in BTC that I mess with now and then, but after the Crypto Winter a few years ago (which I escaped from early with all my earnings/winnings, thankfully) I am not rushing to get back into it anytime soon.

@Old_Joe, my wife is my best friend and I am grateful to have her forever.
  • @Sven- yes, of course... but do you always fully understand any female?
  • Not always initially, but I am a quick learner. I grew to appreciate how my wife make me a better partner to her, and a better father to my kids. Likewise, she does not fully understand everything I do, but she comes to appreciates the decisions we made together. The key for us is open communication and cell phones are wonderful tool.
  • i'm with Charlie Munger when it comes to that sh**.
