Badgers take on Mich St. with payback on their minds! GO BADGERS!! If they can meet the challenge , Mich. will be their next opponent or will it be Maryland? Mich. St. - 2
Sad to say Championship game was a bust as action goes. Four games in four days to much for Badgers to conquer as they run out of gas in last 3 to 4 minutes. Mich.coach gets a salute as first term coach to win the gold ball!! Now on to more B ball & yes @Crash the Zags made the tournament.
The Zags won the WCC tournament, beating St. Mary's after losing to them twice during the regular season. Finished 25-8, not so bad, got an 8-seed in the big dance.
But if they get past Georgia, 1-seed U. of Houston will likely be their next challenge.
Thanks for the updates. Glad to be corrected. My niece graduated from U-Georgia. 20th of March, so I see on the schedule. Mid-morning game-time here in Hawaii.
This Thursday and Friday there will be moments when four NCAA games will be live simultaneously. In order to enjoy this oddity, I have clung to my traditional cable TV service because it permits rapid channel changes. IIANM, streaming services are much slower in this regard, especially if one needs to change from one app to another. Others may be able to set up split or shared screens, but I've never fooled around with them. Nor am I nutty enough to put multiple TV sets in the same room because my wife needs no further evidence of my mental instability. It ain't called March Madness for nothing.
@BenWP Way to much B Ball at one time for sure. Last 6 minutes usually determines the winner, so that will determine what I will try to view. If one looks at point spread for the opening rounds, I would think some of the field should be shorten up, but it's all about the $$$$$$
Will they get cremated by Houston, next? Sports Illustrated: Gonzaga has the two things necessary to deal with Houston’s overwhelming ball pressure and rebounding dominance: size and point guard play. Ryan Nembhard is perhaps the best passer in college basketball and has the experience necessary to deal with Houston’s ballhawking guards. And up front, Gonzaga is one of the better defensive rebounding teams in the country and can cycle through multiple bodies up front to stay fresh against this high-motor Houston front. It will be a tall order for anyone to beat Houston, but Gonzaga at least has the personnel and the overall talent level required to hang with them for 40 minutes and the March experience to potentially get over the hump.
35-27, end of 1st Half: Houston leads Gonzaga. The Dawgs managed a bit of a comeback toward the end of the half. Still down by 8. But it is not the blowout that it almost was looking like, for Houston... Bulldogs only managed 3 three-pointers, so far.
Final: 81-76. Houston wins. Dawgs came gradually, steadily closer, though they trailed for the whole game. They got to within 3 points of Houston near the very end. And there was the usual parade of fouls as the clock wound down. Actually, with 21 seconds left to play, the Zags were down by just 1 point, 77-76. Gotta give credit to the Zags, vs. such a powerhouse team. A.J. Cryer was a one-man wrecking crew for Houston. Congrats to the winners. First time in 10 years that Gonzaga is not in the Sweet 16.
@Crash Badgers lost by 2. If one looks at box score they should have lost by double digits. Not one of Badgers better efforts. Enjoy the tournament, Derf
Much prefer pro - but the money lines are all so lopsided lately that it’s hard to bet on or enjoy a game. My hunch is that those without much chance traded away their better players at some recent point so we’re left with these lopsided games (the good vs the bad).

Ditto - I looked away with 2 or 3 minutes left. Sure looked like a blowout. Don’t know how Wis managed to make it close. Apparently there was a flagrant foul on someone (BYU) for a knee or elbow to the groin late in the game. ISTM the player was ejected.

The betting odds had favored Wis by one point.
