Thanks for the kind words. 23 was a tough year, but 24 was pretty good until the Ides of November. I was re-elected as a township trustee for my 4th term. The board pretty much runs unopposed. Feh, 85% ag, 6K, pure republican where democrats don't even run. That said, we've had a balanced budget for over 20 years, taxes are low, we don't fight and there are flowers on the bridges. WTF do you want? Oh, and I'll stack our Master Plan and Zoning Ordinance up against any in the nation for sustainability, environmental sensitivity and just good local government. I can't bring peace to the middle east nor stop deforestation of the Amazon, but I can make my little corner of the world a better place. Serenity prayer, peeps. Had it tattooed on the inside of my eyelids back in 2016, when that Cheeto MF was first elected. Now, I've got to have it re-inked. When shit happens, I just close my eyes.
As for the election, 'you get what you vote for' and America voted for Donald and that's what they're going to get. Good luck. All of us are covered, but I fear those poor SOBs that voted for him are in for a rough ride. The vast majority of Americans are pissed and rightly so as Washington has bee screwing us since Reagan. They want change and DJT promised change, while Harris promised a continuation of the same old shit. Democrats got so wrapped up in transgender bathrooms, they forgot the working class.
Democrats are stupid and Republicans are mean. Alas and alack.

I always thought die hard Democrats as self absorbed lazy intellectuals or intellectual snobs with a strong affliction of knowingness. But I think “Democrats are stupid …” sums up much better.
I have never seen so many Republicans cross over to support a Democratic candidate for the President. Yah, it was her election to lose and she put a bow on it while giving it away. Sooo out of touch. It was over the minute she picked a Minnesota governor instead of a Kentucky governor or even a N Carolina governor. Too cocky or drunk with stupidity.

My sense is the recent drive by shooters we had in this forum are all recent converts to the GOP like Trump.
