First, I think the drones are what the government suggested: a combination of commercial, law enforcement and amateur drones plus small planes - and in large part operating legally. I’m not scared of them - except for the long known danger drones near airports pose to low flying aircraft. So I see the near hysteria as unwarranted and largely media looking for a new eyeball-grabbing story now that the 4-year long Presidential campaign is over.
Now - Trump’s suggestion (see linked video) that the government is hiding something seems odd. Is it not normal for a Prez-elect to receive security briefings from the outgoing administration? A mere one month out from Inauguration and the Biden Administration hasn’t yet briefed him on matters of national security? That’s what seems “strange” to me.

Ummm … If he’s getting briefings ISTM he’s now part of the government. Albeit, he has of yet no control. So ….. Do we fire the current national security team and bring in a new bunch? They then may attribute all those drones to some nation or other entity against whom they would launch a punitive attack? I think I’m beginning to get it.
As a kid growing up near Detroit, I recall family’s would sometimes congregate on lawns at night to watch the moving multi-colored lights in the sky. They mostly originated from blimps. Long time ago, but I believe they featured brightly lighted Ads for various products. Remember one for Pfeiffer beer. Drones? You can buy one at Amazon for $100 or so. Where’s the beef? People just waking up to the fact they’re being watched?
Trump is 99% deception, lies and conspiracy theories. If nothing is going on, he will look to create distractions. Meanwhile, he rolls out the Project 2025 agenda and seeks full control the media.
Control the narrative, control the people. He is truly emboldened now.
Does Orange even pay attention to his debriefs? I doubt it. I doubt it highly.
This is ridiculous.
If drones have protections similar to aircrafts, drone operators must follow the same rules for aircrafts – file flight paths/plans, etc.
Is this more regulations? NO. It's known where all Ubers & Lyfts, & most taxis, are going. It should also be known where each drone is flying & who is operating them. No disclosure, no flying.
Is the US waiting for a drone disaster?
Link To Joint DHS, FBI, FAA & DoD Statement December 16
Here’s a portion: ”Having closely examined the technical data and tips from concerned citizens, we assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones. We have not identified anything anomalous and do not assess the activity to date to present a national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the northeast.”
Why are there NO repercussions for thieves who steal from retail stores? Crime pays.
Why can't women get abortions in half the country?
The US fails to properly address major legal issues on multiple levels. It might take a "drone disaster", as YBB calls it, to get any legislation going. Maybe one at the White House would spur some action.
The only federal agencies that can bring down drones are DHS, DOD, DOE, DOJ.
