Post your favorite remaining team or just take a guess. I'm guessing Alabama, but will pull for MI. ST. from the Big Ten , which seems to be over-rated !
Some potentially great games are coming up this Thurs. and Fri.: Alabama-San Diego State, UCLA-Gonzaga, Texas-Xavier, and probably Miami-Houston. And the others aren't bad either.
Not pulling for anybody in particular, just love two good teams playing somewhere near their best b-ball in a close one. The near-parity among so many teams this year has been really entertaining, all thru the season.
Sad to see Fairleigh Dickinson go down. The giant killers, eh? Looks like Princeton manhandled Missouri. I must be a Princeton fan, looking to the East. Did not attend, but I DID attend, right next-door. https://www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live/game/402
DKNG closed at $17.23 today. About a year ago I bought into it at $17.50 thinking that looked cheap. So, a real “go nowhere” stock. Been in and out several times. Bought at $11 January and sold out at a higher price few weeks later.
Sorry - I’m not betting now and so don’t find sports all that interesting w/o a little $$ on the line. But - GO SPARTANS!
I hope @Derf doesn’t tell me to move this post over to the investing side.
The madness was on full display at Gonzaga-UCLA. What a game. What a last play call by Few. And Tyger came very close to making that last second half-court shot.
Great game to watch as @AndyJ pointed out. Sparty came up short in it's game with K State & I've got to think Izzo didn't sleep very well. More Madness to come, Derf
We are UConn grads, so pulling for both men and women. MSU is our “local” fave.
They play vs. my Gonzaga Bulldogs, next. Don't wanna have to choose between them. Crud! I grew up 10 minutes from the CT State Line. MSU was knocked out in OT. Heartbreaking for some folks I know here.

GU vs. UCLA: Missed the first half. They came roaring back from a 13-point hole to take a 10-point lead. Then they blew the lead. They choked. The very long 3-pointer at the end saved their bacon, but they did not deserve to win. And Drew Timme? Scored half the points just by himself.
After yesterday, I'm just a point out of the lead on our office pool. My final 4 is the favorites Alabama and Houston along with UConn (and Duke which didn't make it).
Something to cheer for since my team, Syracuse, didn't even make the tournament for a second straight year.
.....And Gonzaga is knocked out. Cremated, murdered, mertilized. Lost by 28 points to Connecticut. Behind by 7 at the half. The 2nd half was utterly atrociously bad. They could get NOTHING to sink. Nothing worked.
And Princeton was beaten by Creighton. Giant doggy poopies.... Connecticut has been my first choice in the East. They're always contenders. My favorite fishing hole is in Connecticut, so...
Tonight's PinkFloydcoverband performance hit the nail right on the head. Gloriously great time--- apart from the assholes sitting in front of us, who were jumping and switching and gesticulating and throwing their own private party there, in that stretch of seats they were occupying. Feral, shit-head people. They're everywhere.
The show ran 90 minutes WITH the two encore numbers. Tonight was exclusively "Dark Side of the Moon" songs. But one of the encores was "Comfortably Numb." I hope they expand their repertoire and come back! Great stuff. 10-member band, including three female vocalists. They were marvelous, too. They all live on The Big Island and began performing over there.
The sweet 16 was devastating to my pool but I'm sure it was to many. My only final 4 pick left in the running is Uconn. SD State and Florida Atlantic (who?) were killers.
Edit: @Crash, I generally cheer for Gonzaga when I don't have a bet on the opposing team. I like the small school story. Problem is they always seem to fall short. But their day will come!
Happy for UConn men, but the women really screwed up against Ohio State, committing more than 25 turnovers. Bball and a generous state legislature made UConn into a fine university, big change from when we graduated.
Interesting to look at the bracket and realize that as of last night, before the games today, one of these three teams will be in the championship game: Florida Atlantic, San Diego St. or Creighton.
I've always loved the Big East and still listen to games on the radio, so I'm somewhat familiar with how good Creighton is. I did have them going to the elite 8 but not the final 4.
Truly, I believe it was a big mistake for my Syracuse Orange to leave and jump to the ACC. They can't compete for talent with the likes of the Carolina teams. Let's see, snowy, grey and drab versus warm and sunny. What's a recruit going to choose?
@MikeM, Creighton does have a good history in the tourney. Haven't seen them this year, but will today. They weren't in the top 25 in the last AP poll but had a decent NET ranking. O'course all that's out the window once the madness starts and it's about gelling at the right time with a reasonable bench and not too many injuries.
Does Syracuse still run a zone as default defense? I've liked watching them occasionally for that reason - it's like the way the college-hi school game was played decades ago, and usually well done by the 'Cuse.
@AndyJ, yes. Not just as a default. Under Jim Boeheim for the past 40+ years they have played no other defense except the zone. Like Boeheim, it's outdated and way past its effectiveness. The game has evolved to where most teams have at least 1 or 2 dependable 3-point shooters on the floor at all times. The 3-pointer is a zone killer. Always has been.
Thank god this was his last year. He's retiring. It appears forced out though he and the school won't say that.
The gods certainly favored the Huskies through out the tournament. With all the top seeds going down they couldn't lose with in that finale 4. But that's what makes this a great tournament.

They cremated my Zags. I was at a "game watch party" when the two played each other. We all just stopped paying attention.
Someday, I'll get back to Connecticut and go after those Channel Cats in my favorite pond.

Yeah, the zone defense withered away after the 3 pt. shot came into the game. Some teams still use one of them strategically, though.
