Yes, U.S. equity ended higher at the close, BUT more of the 2pm sell down.....lend me your opinion

The tech. areas had a decent close; but coughed up 2% of the daily gain after 2pm.
A quick look indicates similar actions in other equity areas, although tech. had the largest percent down.

The dollar value of trades to cause these large changes has to be VERY LARGE.

Any thoughts on this, other than trading the gains with the late day clock.............not a new event.
Am I going to have to become a late day, day trader with the etf's???? :)

    Ya, the closing bell remarks from any source should not be sounding upbeat. Hell, I saw the Dow up over 300, early. Stinky poopy.

    Headline news pushing stocks around.

    Let's see if the coming earnings reporting season can counter. I'm thinking the sectors to watch are technology, financials and energy.

    One may make some cash on Tuesday, at least until 2pm; if the world doesn't blow up while we're sleeping in the U.S.

    Hi catch22 - great to see you are still here and posting! Hope you are happy and wealthy by now.
    Bob P. at CNBC has commented that this incredible volatility, including Monday's, was a result of LOW VOLUME buyers - that most institutional type buyers are not willing to buy at this point, and sell during the alternate gain periods.
    With the political situation the way it is, it's really hard to not just pull all my investments out of the market and put in cd's.
