February 14th was Valentine day. I have the fortune to marry to my wife for 30 years. This tune by Roberta Flack, First Time Ever i Saw Your Face.

These dark days filled with upheavals across the globe. This tune by Blue Osyster Cult, Don’t Fear the Reaper captures the moment:
  • As an early fan of BOC, I was not initially a big fan of Don't Fear The Reaper. It has really grown on me though, so thanks @sven

This is, by far, my favorite BOC tune. Such superb lyrics and guitar work in this live version:

  • Learning new music everyday. I come to appreciate the lyrics and meaning behind them as you have showed me. So thank you @DeVenture.

Another tune i like about protesting against the Vietnam war from the Guess Who, American Woman .
The meaning of the song from Randy Bachman is provided below.

The Guess Who was the first rock band I ever saw live. And my first "real" date with a girl!

It was at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago 1974. And a very good show. Thanks @Sven

Great clip about the origins of The Guess Who. I have a lot of Guess Who albums. My favorite Guess Who song is actually a deep cut, called "Orly". I love the banging piano. And violin.

Natalie Merchant - Always as much fun to watch, as listen to.

  • Mary J. Blige & U2 - One

  • Great tunes, all. Ya, Natalie Merchant is such a talent. Words fail. And gorgeous. Years back, with 10,000 Maniacs, I wanted to have her children. Hey, Jack Kerouac:

Billy Preston played on seven Rolling Stones albums and on the Beatles Abbey Road
and Let it Be albums. He also collaborated with scores of other musicians.
“Will It Go Round in Circles” is a number 1 hit that he recorded in the 70s.
I haven't heard this song in a very long time.

Billy Preston performs a funky little number called "Outa Space" from the I Wrote A Simple Song album.

  • Thanks @Observant1

I'd forgotten about Preston's work with The Beatles and The Stones.
  • Concert For Bangladesh! "That's The Way God Planned It." Just not the way everybody might choose.

  • 3 more years and then we can get back to this:

  • That performance was astoundingly great! And the bowlers on everyone's head in the chorus. Yes, I've watched this many, many times. Never gets old. Impeach and remove, and we could get back to it SOONER!

"Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You." Led Zeppelin.
  • Great performances. Thanks @Mark & @Crash
  • @Crash - yup I'm all for getting back to it sooner and you're absolutely right about the chorus. Takes it up to whole different level.
  • Last night, on YouTube: the ENTIRE Concert for George, 2002, 1-year after G. Harrison's death.
  • NICE!
