Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
I'll confess being motivated to re-read this old gem after one participant dismissed the linked article of another as not worthy of reading. But - hell, I'm no saint either. Desiderada is always a good read - my Christmas offering if you will. http://sageplace.com/desiderada.htm
Just fine, hank. I recall you posted this at FA, too.
I'll add this with the note of replacing "man" with "person". I received a high school graduation card (right after the printing press was invented) containing this poem. I still have the card to this day.
Not wanting to trample on your sentiments Hank but I'm always reminded of the parody of this, Deteriorata by the National Lampoon, when thinking of these individuals.

Great stuff. Thanks.
I've long been a fan of the serenity prayer which was posted on the wall at my dentists office when I was a boy.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
This has long enabled me to retain my basic sanity in this quite insane world.
peace,
rono
