Have a Kenmore washer, dryer & canister vacuum cleaner all 20+ years old and still running fine. The name has always been highly respected. That’s a bit odd - since Sears was known to brand devices made by assorted manufacturers with the prized Kennmore label.

It's not always possible to find out who manufactures for Sears although Consumer Reports sometimes provides the information. Panasonic makes Kenmore cannister vacs and Whirlpool provides many of the appliances. FWIIW, Panasonic, of which we own two TVs and 3 vacs, has abandoned the US consumer market.
I guess the reopening is a bit of good news. It'll give everyone affected by the government shutdown a place to wander around aimlessly doing nothing with the paychecks they don't have and won't be getting.
