Is this sell off a correction or the start of something big?
The big stock market question whether the current stock market sell off is a correction and buying opportunity, or the start of a market crash, has been resuscitated overnight, with the Dow Jones index down over 500 points with a couple of hours left to trade (when I jumped out of bed).
This is a pretty good chart talk from a guy with Cornerstone Macro, a group I've found to be pretty sound on econ and financial analysis. Note he's talking 'quality' outperforming -- sometimes a last gasp up at the end of a cycle.
@fundalarm Recession maybe one year from now. But the market does not wait till it starts and corrects itself in advance. When the current correction is over I anticipate slow or no growth of the stock market for some time before the recession. You do not jump on a bandwagon when the train crash ahead of you.

Another bit of info on the subject: ECRI's leading indicators are still on the way down, as they have been in fits and starts for months, but with a fairly significant nosedive just recently.
FWIW.
