  • Wow. Jamie must have many friends in high place to avoid jail time.

Also in the midst of the scheme, Church of Scientology faciliate all these transactions.
  • Rotten to the very core. We now have the government and financial apparatus of a third world country.

    TRUTH.

  • I keep wondering at what point it's worth raising cash to account for the dangers from growing corruption, weaker regulation, and looming political stability. I know they say not to let politics interfere with investing, but we haven't had politics like this in the US before.

I spent 17 years living in Brazil. No one there ever says to ignore politics while investing, it's unthinkable. To think it requires basic trust in stability and the rule of law.
  • The US has become an oligarchy. Middle Class shrinking. I'm not talking about those who make over $100,000.00 but prefer to think of themselves as "middle." The current situation has been in place for decades, with gummint in bed with Big Money. One hand washes the other. Revolving door between CEO posts and the Cabinet. Dems. pretend to care about the working class and the poor. Repubs. don't even pretend to care, anymore. If the sole object of investing is to make money regardless of any other considerations, there are ample choices to decide among. Sorry, I finished the sentence with a preposition.;)

...Simply make sure you invest in the companies that benefit from the Oligarchy. There are STILL conscience-less pigs who want to see child labor laws repealed. The Oligarchy would certainly benefit, if that were to happen. The ugly truth is that you don't get to be a CEO without already having sold your soul. Tax "reform" is a euphemism for removing the already unfairly low taxes which the wealthy must pay. And who will make-up the difference, so we can have libraries, schools, hospitals, roads, railroads and airports and mass-transit systems? Yup. "The poor must always help the rich to save the country."
