...I've been reading a lot in here, just paying attention. But I won't be in a little over an hour. This looks like a remake. Natalie Cole, I do believe. Better sound quality than the original. Just because the World Series starts tonight in Kansas City.
Haven't been able to watch since sitting through the entire frigid 18 innings of the Nats collapse.
If the Royals can get back home, home teams in the Series are somewhere around 82% to win in games 6 and 7 since 1980 or so. KC now gets SF pitching not named Bumgarner. Like the Royals in 6 or 7, even after last night.
I enjoyed the game ... but, I have no team in the matchup. Sometimes, this is the best way to enjoy baseball. Hopefully, the Royals will pull even and make it a good interesting series. I am hoping it will take game seven to decide.
All I can say Ted is that your bookie must love you. What is it now, 4-5-6 of your last sporting predictions have been wrong. Good thing you're a much better investor.
Lost my love of baseball. But, was happy to see KC get in. Generally these WS games are heavy on commercials, special effects and anecdotal human interest stories rather than how the game is played. I'll actually listen to music and read during game 2.
What's wrong with the game? No team loyality or cohesiveness anymore. Players move from team to team or get traded en-mass. Hell .. The Red Sox traded away their entire all-star caliber starting rotation mid season when it appeared they wouldn't make the playoffs. What kind of stunt is that to play on your season ticket holders? Our Tigers can't keep 10 players together for a whole season. Brandon Inge was the last really talented infielder they had and they screwed him over.
I could go on. ... I'll spare you. But good luck to Old Joe and SF and Ted limit your calls to investing!
@Mark: I hate people who keep track of my bets. Failed to mention I beat the spread on last Sat. nights ND-Florida State game. Took the Irish +8. Regards, Ted
Hey, guys. I am in sympathy with Hank's remarks, but cannot stop my love of the game. I played the song again. It includes film of J. Robinson's steal of Home. Yogi was NOT happy at all about that call! But a tie STILL goes to the runner, eh? The horses I had been betting on have been knocked out of the running already. I'm hoping to see an exciting Series, is all. Bumgarner shut 'em down in Game1. I think the Royals will do better against Peavey. Not a bad pitcher, but certainly not overpowering. Red Sox let him go this year, too, after just getting him from The White Sox. And before that, he was with SD, I believe. He's no Spring Chicken, and depends on a curve more than fast ball. Peavey couldn't register a Win for the Bosox after mid-May, this season. Not much of a team in Beantown behind him in 2014. But I bet uncle Jake is feeling lucky about where he got traded!
If I had to predict, I'd say Royals in 7. But everything has to fall into place for them, or they are doomed. They can't let the SF pitching just keep sticking their bats up their asses.
@ Ted - now we both know you don't mean that, I know you love me man. Good call on ND, I 'll root for any team to beat those hoodlums from Florida State.
