"Wouldn't be caught dead" holding a U.S. treasury bond (Lip)
Reply to @johnN: As for China, this is an interesting scenario, and I do think the scenario is worth some consideration. Additionally, the latest book from Satyajit Das ("Extreme Money") is worth a read.
He is a $1.4 worth of billionaire. Could not find any info regarding returns over the years for the hedge fund (Omega) that he started and operates. Would be nice to find returns for the past 5 years to determine the skills. Anyway, he is partially correct about one part of his statement; "don't get caught". I agree with this completely, don't get caught in any wrong investment for too long.
As a side note for today's market activity as related to our portfolio mix; and which indicates the still unknown directions, all funds were positive, with the exception of a few unchanged bond NAVs. The bets are being placed in all areas.
Now, I got some opinions on current U.S. interest rates and government bonds. However, when comes to international stuff, gonna let the fund managers figure that out. Got some RPIBX, PRELX, and OIBAX. Imagine one or more holds Greek bonds.
