Bourbon-Filled Train Sculpture Sells for 33.8M at Auction

Comments

  • It was heartbreaking, at the top of the bidding, when they didn't see the bidding card I was waving for 34 M, and the gavel came down. It felt like a big bond position being called away from me. As with any asset class, it would have been better to have entered earlier, "before the train left the station." [bah-dah-bum!]

We'll cut you some slack and pretend that you didn't say that. Please try to not let that sort of thing happen again.

    :-)
  • @heezsafe, recent posts from you seem to indicate that you have a steady supply of bourbon (or equivalent). Did you really need the train?:-)
  • all aboard!
  • "I think I'd rather be in Philadel-phi-a." What an atrociously STUPID waste.
  • @cman: it was an auction of internal conflict; my model ("proprietary," of course) told me I should want the train, while at the same time told me I needed the bourbon. This made price discovery problematic. Perhaps it worked out for the best.:)

@Old_Joe: I am sorry, my liege; I kiss the pinky, and shall redouble efforts to show greater restraint, to comport with standards for someone of my humble station.:)
  • Cool! Up from the floor now, jester!
  • Maybe I should add to Diageo (DEO) lol. Sold BF.B already, oh well.
