Liquid Alts. How much of your portfolio should be in them? Once upon a time I was in ARSLX it did not work out . At the time some folks on this site suggested Marketfield (MFPDX and fortunately I rejected. These things are particularly tax inefficient in taxable accounts and the fees are so high its odds against that it will work out.You also to a much greater extent run into one of the arguments indexers use which is that even if there is a fund that will do well you might not be able to pick the right fund. For cost reasons I suggest buying TLT which is long term treasuries. I may think this fund won't do very well over the next year but it does do well when the roof falls in (see 2008) and provides diversification
I purchased ARLSX and so far not so good Dear Jerry: Its the woodshed for you young man. There is no fund with the symbol
ARSLX.

Ted
