Several investment advisors one colleague at work 5 yrs till retirement recommended 75 bonds 25 stocks. Major crash bound to happen. For me still 80 stock 20 bond
have not buying much, most of my buys were in oil/related companies bonds the past 6 months, got a large hit downturn but thinking long term maybe ok.

You can also sign up for bond research at Moodys.com and you can call the broker (ie zionsdirect) to ask about these bonds before buying them. But I think boa or most firms have their own bonds but zions usually charge 1% less fees than others.

About 4k for monthly expenses. If I need emergency cash which occur rarely would sell some bonds or get from margin account but pay it.back in full asap
