Here's a statement of the obvious: The opinions expressed here are those of the participants, not those of the Mutual Fund Observer. We cannot vouch for the accuracy or appropriateness of any of it, though we do encourage civility and good humor.
Bee,
I've already posted this in the off-topic category (also includes link to International Re-cap). Now that we a few choices to place the posts, I thought it did not directly fit the "Fund" discussion category. (You can edit your post and move …
Apparently it was the automatically saved draft that was saved when I was composing the reply. Does this automatically saved drafts expire after a while or should I delete them manually each time?
John,
Indeed it is great to have MFO to carry on the tradition of FA.
Just one comment: you have posted this in Fund Discussions but really perhaps a bit more appropriate for Off-Topic category. It is about the site, instead of funds.
If you do…
I do not think removing it would provide additional security as long as I can click on any of your posts and click on the name and see the activity. Even with all activity turned off you cannot hide if you post. It will show that you have been in th…
Yes, I'm ok with either way. In a non-threaded view (if this software could provide that kind of view as well as threaded) the posts would be linear and in order of posting...
This indented view is what people from FA is used to. They will like it.
Also, what is the purpose of text box with "Share" button on the Activity page? I did post to my activity page, left a comment to my post, deleted the activity etc. But, I am not sure what is the purpose of these self posted stuff there.

Hey Brad,
Can you force a login if the non-yet-logged in user has typed an existing user name. This will prevent silly mistake and also prevent impersonation.
I've actually started a discussion on this issue:

Reply to does not need to post in the middle. In fact, most non-threaded view representations put it at the end.
It could post at the end with a header in "In reply to post ... by ...." and which is a link and if you click on the link it would tak…
BoB, I do not find much value on the M* star ratings. Neither give much weight to mutual fund analyst opinions. However, the rest of the information is quantative so is not subject to opinion. You may object to the presentation but the data speaks f…
John, I have my personal computers behind a hardware firewall/router.
I have McAfee Total Protection installed on my PCs and I think Malwarebytes is a good complement but I do not use that often.

I am sorry but I do not want to see 20 different links which will make posts too cluttered. But I agree converting the fund name to a link is a good idea.
The link could good go to a php page hosted at MFO which would then link to various Mutual F…
According to the reports I've read, the data breach is contained to name and email addresses. I would be careful of phishing emails from now on. It is a big breech but sensitive information is not breached this time.
I got a notification from Walgr…

Just enter the HTML tags in your post. No different than FundAlarm in this respect. For example to get the above line you would enter:

I am a sucker for small cap funds. I do have min. investment in WSCVX in Self-Managed 401k account. It is a rather aggressive fund as far as I can see (in both directions).
I have a very small amount in BJBHX. I like it as it is a global high yield fund and keep the duration rather short. Those attributes are appealing to me.
I think Harbor High Yield is a clone of a PIMCO fund but I may be wrong.
* I agree with others that expanded tree view and being able to reply to a specific post in a thread would be preferred.
* Each new discussion on the main list is taking too much screen estate. Can you switch to a smaller font so we can pack a bit …
